Bleed Out is a song by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation, released on 18 August 2023 as the lead single from their eight omonymous studio album Bleed Out, which was released later in the same year.
The song was written by WT members Sharon den Adel and Robert Westerholt with Daniel Gibson. The lyrics are based on the story of Mahsa Amini, a young Iranian girl who was allegedly killed in Teheran by the Guidance Patrol for allegedly not wearing the hijab in accordance with government standards; the lyrics aim to explore the wider theme of individuals oppressed by regimes all over the world.
