On “Solid,” Young Thug and Gunna reunite with their past collaborator Drake for a track about their solid and genuine friendships and relationships. The trio boast their wealth and fame while mentioning the difficulties that come with their lavish lifestyles.
Young Thug teased a snippet of this song six hours before its release via Instagram Live.
Gunna said in a Billboard interview that this song was supposed to be a collaboration between him and Drake for the latter’s Certified Lover Boy.
OZ handled production on the first half of the song, with co-production from Foreign Teck and Elyas (all of whom previously collaborated on Drake’s “Losses”), while Wheezy handled production on the latter half.
“Solid” debuted and peaked at #12 on the Hot 100 during the week ending May 1, 2021.
On August 4, 2021, “Solid” was certified gold by the RIAA.
