Biography

Bobbie Allen, known professionally as Young Summer, is an American singer-songwriter based in Washington, D.C. Her first studio album, Siren, was released in August 2014. She released a single "Alright", June 2016 to rave reviews. Her follow-up EP, You Would Have Loved It Here, was released October 2016.

Allen lists Karen Carpenter, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Ryan Adams, and Prince as her influences. She co-wrote Echosmith's song, “Goodbye,” the lead single from their second studio album, Inside a Dream.

Young Summer presents a new side of artistry for Bobbie Allen. “It's extremely honest music,” she explains. “It really is no-holds-barred in its honesty. It feels that way when you hear it because that concept is very deliberate. That's the thread that brings all of the songs together and makes them related. It all comes from a very sincere and honest place.”
