2016 was a really good year for rap. Quiet honestly I agree with your opinion on death grips but as an experimental and ground breaking sound, it was really something, I would probably listen to tlop more than bottomless pit (also because it isn't the best death grips album) but from an objective stance I'd say bottomless pit > tlop

Every Kanye album was getting better up until this point! He's so GOATed for this, having kids fucked with him and ruined the flawless run! Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy, how'd you do it...

a handful of mid tracks but the highs are high and it's never boring, probably his most impactful album in recent years

a lot of great songs and a lot of bad songs. not near the perfection of dark fantasy, but still a good album with some amazing moments.

100% I think it's a generational thing because I fucking hate the late 2000s bling rap, but fucking love Metro Boomin', Future, Thugger, trap of the mid-late 2010s. I think MBDTF will always have more fans, because of the highs being so much higher (runaway being Ye's peak), but this album just clears off of the fact it's so fatless and easy to listen to, it's easily Ye's best

TLOP was my first Ye rollout, I’ve had hella nostalgia and memories w that album and if I used lastfm in 2016 it quite literally could have been my most streamed album ever to date.

That being said, it’s fallen out of my rotation for a whileeee now other than a few songs. I prefer Donda way more at this point of my life, and have it in my top 5 Ye albums made to date.

Second favorite Ye record, right behind Yeezus. Insta-classic, imo, since each and every track slaps in its own way. FMSH pt 1 sounds like post-nut clarity, Wolves features great vocals from Vic and Sia, and Feedback has good lyricism.
