Tyla Laura Seethal (born 30 January 2002), known professionally as Tyla, is a South African singer, songwriter and dancer. Born and raised in Johannesburg, she signed to Epic Records in 2021 after the domestic success of her debut single "Getting Late". Tyla rose to international prominence with her 2023 single "Water", which made her the first South African soloist in 55 years to enter the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was awarded the inaugural Grammy Award for "Best African Music Performance" in 2024.
