something about pierce the veil being under "posthardcore" just does not make sense to me. *insert nerd emoji. this is a call to arms for all music nerds. lets unite in being pissed that a pop punk band with no real hardcore influence is topping the list when it should be *insert band here!!!!1

I'd argue Turnstile is starting to head that direction with their recent album. Drug Church and Narrow Head just put pretty good albums out that are worth checking out.

Deathcore and deathgrind are offshoots of death metal, but you wouldn't call BMTH death metal, would you? Neither would you call Napalm Death death metal.

Sure, not all offshoots are still within the main genre. Still doesnt make Scenecore a genre considering how many people have incredibly differing ideas of what bands are and arent scene and its a fucking jumble of bands that have little to no correlation to each other. Please tell me what definitive and concrete influences, aesthetics, and traits Underoath and Attack Attack have with each other to the point of where they should be together in their own genre.

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

Can anyone actually define this genre? All I know is that it kinda sounds like emo and Millennials listened to it.

Hardcore Punk music mixed with other Rock/Punk/Metal subgenres and sometimes other that don't belong to those. Why is that so hard to understand? It seems pre and post millennial generations aren't so smart.

Nah, I hate boybands. If I were to be in a band at all I'd love to be in a power metal band, similar to Sabaton or something. I'd be open to being in other bands of different genres too. But to be honest, post-hardcore can be annoying sometimes, I listen to way more than I should.

I dislike most pop boy bands, I prefer the poppy post-hardcore to the more raw old post-hardcore. AJR, Bad Suns are boy bands but on the alternative side, but I love their music. 5 Seconds of Summer is very poppy but with very hidden pop punk vibe, I dislike them but enjoy their music. Suppose there's other examples too, but I dislike Jonas Brothers and *NSYNC and similar such.
