Though I get hardcore is both a singular genre and can be used as an umbrella term (just like how "heavy metal" or just "metal" is an umbrella term) but a lot of these bands are still metal and hardcore fusions. I feel like no one is going to recognize that if we just insist it's hardcore and only hardcore when it really isn't.

Because hardcore is a broad term that can be used to describe any band that falls under the Hardcore umbrella. All those 90's "metalcore" bands describe themselves as hardcore also.

Why do all 90s metalcore bands die out so fast? None of them made it to at least 2004.
