1, Bigbít (bigbeat) is a term (used in Czechoslovakia and eastern Europe) describing Czechoslovak 1960s/1970s artists inspired by British 1960s bands such as The Beatles, Cream, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Yardbirds, The Who, Troggs, The Hollies and others. The most important representatives of Slovak bigbít music are Pavol Hammel, Marián Varga, Peter Lipa, Jiří Schelinger, Ľubo Belák, Miro Žbirka, Braňo Hronec, Janko Lehotský, Dežo Ursiny, Jožo Barina, Jano Baláž, Laco Lučenič, Vasko Velčický, Stano Herko, Kamil Peteraj, Peter Janda, Viktor Sodoma, Radim Hladík and others.The most important bands are Olympic, The Beatmen, The Soulmen, Blue Effect, Tiene, Kabinet 12, The Beats, Collegium Musicum, Synkopy, The Buttons, Prúdy, Modus, Limit, The Phantoms, Fermáta, Progress Organisation, Progres 2, Gattch, Flamengo, The Matadors, Katapult, Olympic and many others.
