The order the stuff appears on tag pages depends on how many times they have been tagged. This order has nothing to do with scrobbles. That's why you find Justin Bieber among the top artists on "brutal death metal".

When you really analyze it, djent could easily just be called "progressive metalcore", since most bands within the genre could be categorized as such. Controversially, the same could be said of IDM being renamed to "ambient techno". My opinion.

you're probably not wrong. Djent is supposed to be the sound the guitar effect makes, not the genre anyway.

i agree for the year 2010(?) and didnt like the term as genre as well. but the same was valid for seattle rock aka grunge and many others IMHO. anyways, "grunge" is still interesting, djent is not (just tested it) ^^ JM2C

I don't get it either. It's like an endless repititions of unsatisfying riffs, filled with monotonous vocals.

So djent = prog, and prog > djent, so djent > djent.....wow, I guess that's just further proof of how awesome djent is....even better than itself!!

Vildhjarta and AAL are the real thing. Everything else is just copycat of Meshuggah and those two

Old man metalhead here. Just got into djent bands in the last month. I'm really liking what I hear. I haven't been into metal in awhile except the occasional Devin Townsend, Lamb of God, Meshuggah, etc. Lots of talented musicians in this tech-djent-prog "sub-genre". Good stuff, man.
