Euro disco, also spelled as Euro-Disco and Eurodisco, is a music genre that originated in Europe in the late 1970s as a European counterpart to American disco music. It replaces the funk and soul music of disco music with elements of pop music from Europe. The genre evolves into a more electronic form in the early to mid-1980s. Euro Disco became very popular in Europe, with Germany being the country that most produced the genre, followed by France, Holland, Sweden, Spain and Italy (to a lesser extent).
