Abbreviation for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, so named to distinguish from the Church of Jesus Christ in the meridian of time. Also known by the nick name, "the Mormon church" Members refer to themselves and LDS (Latter-Day-Saints), while those not of the faith often call them Mormons because of their belief of in addition to the Bible as scripture, also the "Book of Mormon" as scripture and a second witness that Jesus is the Christ and Savior of the world.
