Moombahcore is a style of moombahton with influences from dubstep and electro house outside of Dutch house. Characteristics of the genre include chopped vocals, dubstep-influenced bass sounds, extensive build-ups, and complex percussion.
While there is still much debate over who was the first to produce in the moombahcore style, artists such as Munchi, Dillon Francis, Knife Party, Nick Thayer and Skrillex helped this new sub-genre to gain underground popularity. Other producers associated with moombahcore include Singularity, F3ral, Calvertron, Diplo, FuntCase, Noisestorm, Figure, 501 and Brown & Gammon.
