I'm more a fan of Opeth than PT though I love both bands, I probably wouldn't see Opeth again either unless they came back to NZ or were doing a farewell tour.

I don't think I'd go over to see them if they announced shows in Aus, I' m trying to save for a house as well as upgrade music gear so money is tight. Plus with the cost of living well, every dollar adds up. It was quite a bit for me to get over there to see Opeth—actually that's the most expensive concert I've attended. I hope you enjoy PT! I may see The Sisters of Mercy and then my favourite Kiwi band called Jakob later in the year. Oof, that must've hurt to give up front row tickets to Porcupine Tree. Before the pandemic I almost got to see Baroness which I am still gutted about, it was just less than a week before we went into lockdown in 2020.

We saw them on the same tour, I took a flight to Aussie as I thought they would miss out NZ again... they announced the Aussie shows before NZ. They hadn't been to NZ in like 10 years, it was worth flying to see them at the Sydney Opera House, such an amazing venue. I doubt Porcupine Tree will come here, I had an opportunity to see Steven a bit before the pandemic. I've kicked myself for not going to that gig - perhaps one day I'll see them.

It's a great album, might give it a spin tonight. When I saw Opeth in Sydney Mikael played a bit of 'Drag Ropes', he cracked a joke about Steven Wilson too. I've always hoped they'll release another together; I've only heard half of the Clark soundtrack so far. I like what I've heard, it's different for sure.

Arctic Monkeys also have one of my perfect albums: "Favourite Worst Nightmare", #6 all time. Which one is your favorite by them?

The next shows here I'm gonna be at are Joe Satriani, Nightwish/Delain/Sonata Arctica, and maybe Megadeth. None of them are within my top 50, but they are still most enjoyable, especially live! I'm not a metal head at all, but Megadeth show sounds a lot of fun, and Satriani's 2015 album was OK, and the proggiest he has ever done. I actually loved the closing track (Goodbye Supernova) to his album. Well nothing to feel less jealous but at least I tried ;-) I though enjoyed Symphony X and TesseracT live shows here in Calgary the last two months it was my first time to see them and they were AMAZING!

Since Marillion hates western Canada apparently I stop hoping to see them live here! I'll try to catch them live finally in Marillion weekend in (possibly) 2017 in Montreal. In May I'm gonna see Sylvan, Unreal City and Kinetic Element in Quebec City (Terra Incognita Festival) which is very exciting since Sylvan is one of my top 5 bands! and I love the other two. King Crimson was awesome as I expected. What a lineup...

Thanks for the heads up, but sadly, I'm being boring and staying at home in Wigan. Different house since last time we spoke though, I think. Too much hassle to travel to London for gigs, especially since I'll be driving a similar distance the weekend after. Hope you and yours are doing well!

Hey there! I was away on holiday, so missed your sort-of-happy-birthday message ;-) Hope you're doing well, according to this place we should get on, we're still super-compatible.

Hey. I decided to revisit this thing again. I'm starting to go numb from the lack of music in my parts. If I hear anymore 'alt rock' at Abstract, I'll seriously lose it. I think I under appreciated the Knife when I first heard it at Neutral the last time we went.
