Cool, a friend of mine on last.fm is in an emo band and he got me to listen to Analphabetapolothology and I loved it. Been meaning to listen to other bands from the emo scene for a while now. Man, I should read Catch 22, I've been trying to force myself to read more lately but I keep forgetting to. I have a stack of about 10 books sitting here right now and I need to get through them all, damnit. He's actually rereleasing Rainbow Road, I don't know if that interests you at all, but there's a neat video that comes with that "official" release and you can get a physical copy (I ordered one a while back but it never came).

I think the title track is my personal favourite off the album, but the whole thing is so consistently great for me. Don't know when the new album is coming out, but he's put out an album and an EP in addition to Rainbow Road which I think are great as well. The album is particularly impressive because it's all a cappella, even the percussion is done with his throat or something. By the way, out of curiosity, is your screenname a nod to Cap'n Jazz?

Yeah, I love Alvin Band, I have this guy to thank for that discovery actually, Rainbow Road was an instant favourite. Have you heard he has a new album coming out later this year? I'm highly anticipating that

i haven't gotten to any of his post-rain dogs work yet. i started with that, then went to closing time and new i had to listen to this motherfucker from start to finish. slowly but surely i'll get through everything, i just don't want to rush it. i'm a huge fan of his early, slow jazzy albums like heart of saturday night but rain dogs is still just too good.

Sleepmakeswaves are great, One Day You Will Teach Me To Let Go Of My Fears (long title) is my favorite from them so far. Favorites right now are, John Coltrane Quartet and Abakus, at least those two have been played way too much haha. Haven't heard of the other two artists you mentioned though, what style are they?

Yeah, Miles Davis is pretty good to listen too whenever. Who are some of your favorite artists so far?

With Tegan and Sara, I'd probably recommend The Con first. It's got some of their catchiest material and is a fairly nice balance between their folk-rock beginnings and more polished new wave adoption. Also, the other day I picked up Jackson C. Frank's self-titled, which I'm told is quite, quite good and recommended for Nick Drake fans, so you may want to look into that.

John Coltrane and Miles Davis, nice taste. Also plus on adventure time avatar, love that series.

>top artist the late great Nujabes you're a good man bro. Your body ready for that posthumous release this december? Its the last we'll ever get of him Also Substantial teamed up with marcus D and formed a group called Bop Alloy that directly tries to inherit the late great Nujabes' signature flow. Of course its not the same, but they're still pretty damn good so you should give them a listen
