What do you think of the Silvertomb song that has been released? The voacls remind me of Chris Cornell at times.

Shit man. You are driving all the way to cleveland for AAL, and Devin Townsend? I hope you got a buddy. I got lucky since my hometown is Toledo and I get to see all of them an hour drive away :^) in Detroit. The show is going to be kick ass.

Pallbearer are even heavier live. It is interesting that they conjure such heavy music being from Arkansas and all. I bought the Pallbearer t-shirt that was the sweatshirt design. I'm envious that you are going to see Carcass, Obituary, and Exhumed on one bill: those are two of my favorite death metal bands from my youth and one of my current favorite metal bands. Exhumed seem like death metal superheros in concert. They are way underrated.

Ha! I see that you didn't dig Tombs, but loved VV. I bought the VV shirt with Brian Cross on it. Was that your first show at Cosmic Charlies?

Man, I just can't get into post CTS Mastodon... I see that you really like that era, was it difficult to get into it? Or was it an instant love?

You said it perfectly. They are certainly making honest music and you can tell because it doesn't sound like everything else out there. There's a beautiful originality to it. As for the Fallujah song, I definitely like some parts of it. I haven't been listening to nearly as much metal over the last year as I used to, and it's been awhile since I've tried much new stuff in this heavy of a range. But I definitely like certain parts (especially some of the background stuff towards the beginning) and will give it some more spins. I'm also going to try and see them this weekend at Summer Slaughter if I can make it. Are you planning on going to Summer Slaughter?

I'm definitely going to get on that level 3 sometime soon. It seems like Fallujah has been the talk of the metal community lately. I liked Nomadic the few times I listened to it. I'll have to play the new album a lot. Is it streaming anywhere right now? Yeah, I think Language very well might contend for album of the year. If the single is as good as it is, I can't even imagine how good the rest of the album (i.e. the grower tracks) will be. September 16th can't come soon enough. 2 more months my friend!

Yeah, he definitely did. Great song indeed. I love the dreamy quality it evokes. I haven't listened to Level 3, save for the initial single. But I love how he did the vox here. Can't wait for the album. Damn, two more months. Hopefully we can get at least one more new song before the album drops. I'm guessing we will.

Nice. And yeah, I've listened to a little bit of Fallujah. I spun the Nomadic EP a few times, but other than that, I really haven't checked them out. But I really need to, because I know that a lot of people are high on them and their first full length Assemblage of Wolves. What do you think of their new single?

Yeah, I saw that tour as well. What a stacked lineup that was. That's cool, I know a lot of people really dig Parallax 2. I think it's great as well, but I still have to give Colors the edge as my favorite. After that, it's a bit murky. But I'd say Colors > TGM > Alaska > Parallax 2 > Parallax 1 > The Silent Circus > Self-Titled. I do like TSC and some of the self titled, but not as much as their later releases. What upcoming releases are you stoked for? For me, I can't wait for the new Mastodon, Contortionist, and Moodoid (psych rock) records.

For me Crack the Skye is essential. The combination of progressive elements with slude are really amazing, not forget the Leviathan, as is a dissonant album and their sound is dirty but I keep moving my head. Did you like the new Animals as Leaders album?

Summer slaughter would be cool. Ive already seen the faceless and within the ruins. Would be sick to see Fallujah and thy art is murder for the first time. Never heard of Septic Flesh. Will check them out. I'm more into melodic death metal than just regular death metal.
