The obvious looting is mostly young thugs exploiting the situation, but there is of course a real underlying problem - the rich get richer on the back of the poor getting poorer and having fewer prospects. The 'rich' cut full time jobs and make more jobs minimum wage, all to line their own pockets. No one should be looting, but then no one should be earning colossal salaries and bonuses: we need more equality and less exploitation!

There was/is a fairly ineffective boycott of 'The Sun' because of reporting of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster involving Liverpool fans, but Murdoch has been involved in trash tabloid publishing in the UK since 1969. He bought is way into supposedly quality newspaper publishing in 1981, and we've had nothing to do with any Murdoch product since then. Of course, he doesn't care - and neither do most people, who make his papers the biggest selling in the UK and flock to watch his (part-owned) satellite TV channels. It's taken until this year and the phone hacking scandal to wake some people up, but millions still buy his trash...

Hi Lance: thanks for dropping by. No, certainly don't believe too much of what you read or hear from anything owned or part-owned by News Corp - we've been boycotting them for over 30 years... Hey, I see you're due to see GIaA later this month in SF - dream gig, so jealous!

Good to hear from you: yes, there's quite a lot in there, much of it good to great, some of it (radio scrobbling) less so! Glad you've found some stuff to enjoy.

Thanks for visiting: greetings from a ridiculously paralysed England, where a few inches of snow brings life to a virtual halt.
