Not as much as I'd like to, but still love 'em. Hopefully with winter around the corner I'll be put in the mood.

I want to get into manga but I can't find the time... cant even find the time for anime, but this one really interested me! Otherwise all I have watched in the past year is Attack on Titan. Last year I watched Deadman Wonderland which I really liked as well.

All I've been (re)watching on Netflix is Frasier, fucking love that show, so funny. I recently made a tumblr after years of debating if I wanted to make one or not. If you have one, link me and I shall follow you, good sir. http://www.tumblr.com/blog/eadweardseatheling I don't know if you're into japanese new wave movies but I watched this one called ' The Woman In The Dunes', based on a great book, one of the best adaptations I've seen, I highly rec it.

Cheers, I'll check it out! I think I said I was bored with more traditional black metal. After listening to the genre for so long it kinda reached a saturation point. So yeah, some BM that's coming at the genre from a different perspective would be of interest. Thanks for the rec! I'll let you know.

It's solved. Just hard to fight the confusion. Figuring out Pd'H discography can be a pain in the ass.

Hey man, how are you? I checked out your list. I barely listened to any new music last year, feels bad man. Books and movies took that spot for me, read over 150 books (including War and Peace!) and watched a bunch of movies I had been meaning to watch for years. CRITERION COLLECTION IST KRIEG. I made a puny list/journal on lastfm of what I listened to. I'm planning on listening to more stuff this year, already awaiting 2 albums, Anaal Nathrakh and Triptykon.

Cool list, a lot of stuff there I haven't heard/don't like, but there is some stuff I know. I feel the same about Austra, it doesn't pack the same punch for me as Feel It Break, which is a bit disappointing, but eh, it could've been worse, I suppose. I thought about doing a list like that, but I don't think I've listened to enough new music in 2013 to form opinions. Plus, it'd basically just be 'everyone listen to High Tension cool thanks.'

Oh, dude I'm all over Mammoth Grinder. Underworlds was one of my AOTY. Hatred Surge... Good stuff coming out of Texas these days.

Variety, it's the spice and all that right. I'll admit my tastes aren't as varied as some but they're a lot more so than just 5 years ago. And 10 years? Forget it I was a metal Nazi of the worst type. The National have yet to put out a bad album imho. The newest is probably my least favorite overall and it's still a great record. Stick with 'em. Appreciate your advice on ...Beverast. I'm looking for some black metal I can sink my teeth into. As a genre, I feel it's stagnated as much as any in the extreme music world. These days, I'm into a lot more grind, crust, chaotic hardcore, stuff like that. For the most part I've kind of left DM and BM behind. Bummer, but that's life. Still love me some Carcass though! Cheers!

And I don't own anything by TRoB. Band I've meant to get into for ages. Even if I'm listening to less BM now than at any point in my life, which is odd, but not a trend I see reversing.

Totally agree with you about Ulcerate. I wanted to be into Vermis in the worst way. Hoped it was a grower like Gorguts was. But it just didn't end up resonating like Everything is Fire or Destroyers... Still not bad though. From Hecker I've got Radio Amor, Mirages, and Harmony in Ultraviolet. I put a lol next to The National because of how incongruous they are along with the other bands I was listing... Still dig em a lot, not sure if they've topped Alligator, imho.

I had the opposite take on Altar of Plagues album. I loved it. The discordant, industrial atmosphere worked for me, created a wholly eerie listening experience. Really dug Tomorrow's Harvest, but also was an honorable mention for me I guess. Meir as well. Really dug it, but the s/t is better imho. Sky Burial is probably in my top 10. Amazing stuff, I listen to it a lot still. Inter Arma's live show was one of my concert highlights this past year. Stunning. Gorguts, Ulcerate, and Denouncement Pyre all had their moments but left me wanting a bit. We were definitely on the same page with a few others... Nails, Power Trip, Deafheaven, Windhand, Carcass, Sigur Ros, The National (lol) all kicked my ass in a big way in 2013. I'll send you a PM with my list. Not as diverse as yours, mostly heavy stuff, but there you are. And like I said I saw a bunch on your list that are on my radar. Prurient, Baths, Tim Hecker for example. And The Ruins of Beverast. Later!

Cheers! Good stuff there my friend. Quite a few I haven't heard of and will look into. Got a list myself, although not on a fancy schmancy page. I like the set up and meant to do something similar for the last few years. But.... I'm lazy. Reminds me that I still don't have MBV, derp! Not like it just came out. Here's to more great music in 2014. Peace.

Things are great. I start paralegal school at UCI in January, and the new job is coo. Sitting down all day takes some getting used to, though. How are yous? Any good music recs? Are you familiar with the band, GRLVN?
