Are you asking if BAN are DSBM or is that a totally unrelated question to them? I'm gonna pretend you're asking if they're DSBM. ;) No, more ambient/atmospheric(al atmosphereness) black metal. Have you ever listened to a band called The Great Old Ones? They might be up your street. I do recommend trying BAN though. For someone so into black metal, you've never really gotten into the classics or genres outside of DSBM, have you? I don't even think you're a Bathory fan, which is just criminal!

I must admit, I haven't listened to Wigrid in about 2/3 years. I'm listening to Hoffnungstod now and the strengths and weaknesses are still the same. The drums and production leave a lot to be desired but those riffs man. Some of the best in modern DSBM. How much BAN have you heard?

Not so much in the past week. My iPod is weird. It occasionally scrobbles twice as much as I have actually listened to. I'm mostly listening to ambient (mainly Mathias Grassow, Steve Roach, Robert Rich and Brian McBride) and shiz with beats (Triola and Solar Fields). Oh, and the new Sun Kil Moon. And I'm SLOWLY getting into some Brian Eno. I don't suppose you've discovered anything out of your comfort zone that you really like? ;)

Their best appears to be Mother * Teacher * Destroyer. Stoner doom with psychedelic undertones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrbvCjzeHI8

Been listening to Cult of Luna recently, eh? Got a favorite album? I LOVE Somewhere Along the Highway. Salvation is probably a close second.

Moving Pictures mostly. The vocals were a little off putting at first but they've grown on me, possibly because they're so tight musically as a group. I'm listening to Permanent Waves right now actually. It has started very strongly. Either album is recommended! Do you listen to any classic bands ... You know, like The Rolling Stones or owt?

Send Die a message to ask about the God is an Astronaut tickets? ;) I've done it twice - he's seen both messages and still not replied!

about 2-3 years ago. I have been waiting for their arrival since the last time I saw them and now I got a stinking job! Time for sick leave I guess

fk yes, that movie is underrated as hell. I love it though. so much teen angst <3 crust is fine. you should give Nausea, Amebix, Anti cimex, Discharge and Disrupt a try. oh and i'm sure you'd like Nailbomb as well if you don't know them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArQV6S33PpM btw The Casualties are touring again atm.

The only crust James likes is on the inside of a girls panties. In all seriousness though, this page needs more Dystopia.

Oh, you liked Atavist as well? I haven't listened to them in years myself. I suppose I ought to. Is this the beginning of a new kick for you? Drone. That would be awesome, since I've recently gone through that phase myself. ;) Although I'm sure you'd rather the heavier side of the genre. Ever listened to Naked City? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDP19Vieg7k

Corrasion is good. Haven't heard it in YEARS though. Their new album has a REAL drummer on it. Oh, have you heard The Primitive World yet? It's probably their best work in recent years. It's very cool.

When you said Fuck... I'm Dead, I didn't realise you were talking about the band. I had a moment of panic before I realised that I couldn't possibly have been talking to your ghost. Although Erin might say otherwise! I can't say I recall Magma to Ice. I probably have heard it but only the once and it obviously wasn't worth remembering! Nadja have a few gems but, given how prolific they are, there's always bound to be a heap of shit in there discography. What albums of theirs have you heard and enjoyed? One of their better collaborations is The Primitive World: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Nadja/The_Primitive_World/331854

Haha! You fanny. You're looking for grindcore, are you? I have more than a few things I'd like to recommend: Brutal Truth - Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses, Naked City - Torture Garden, Rotten Sound - Exit, Macabre - Dahmer, Insect Warfare - World Extermination, Nails - Unsilent Death, Wormrot - Abuse, Magrudergrind - Magrudergrind, Antigama - Discomfort, Gaza - I Don't Care Where I Go When I Die, PainKiller - Guts of a Virgin, Yacopsae - Tanz, Grosny, Tanz..., Naked Whipper - Painstreaks.

haha aye back in the day. They hadn't released that full length last time I listened so not since 2009 at least, which brings us back to the original question. No, I can only remember one or two but even people who hate grindcore know Repulsion and Regurgitation by virtue of the fact they know what grindcore is. Actually I listen to Gigantic Brain as well. The 'Invasion Discography' is classified as cybergrind and worth a listen if you fancy something a bit different.

Sorry, was off to Korea for two and a half weeks, just got back two days ago. FL Studio is an MIDI music composition software, mainly for electronic music, but you can also use an in-built guitar synthesizer to synthesize guitar sounds. Do you perchance have a band that you know or that you've jammed with before, even if it was just a bit of messing about?

The Black Angels are good. Do what that guy said. And listen to all Slowdive all the time.

I checked the venue's website about a week ago and it was listing all the gigs up until mid April or so so I imagine in about a month it'll show up on there. Most of the tickets seemed fairly cheap, like <£10. Should be so good.

Hmm...well, I play the drums, and have been for about one and a half years now, and I love drumming, just by myself, but on occasion I have a band that I play with, which is fun, but their musical direction is different from my own, so each jam tends to dissolve into lots of noise. Haha. Do you play any instruments? Personally I'm also interested in MIDI...I love making music on FL Studio. Know about it?

Oh wow, 'ello mate. I'm surprised that thread is still in existence, it's years old, hah. I used to play with LTL long time ago, but my time has seen been compressed and I spend more of my time working on music now. Nice to know someone saw that post eventually tho!
