Saw your comment in the shout box of A New Silent Corporation. They released the new album you were waiting for. It is called Odyssea: https://anewsilentcorporation.bandcamp.com/album/odyssea Just discovered them and can't understand why I've never heard of them before.

Hey, sorry bothering you, but i'm a multi-instrumentalist musician (one man band) and I've been doing a few covers (including Every Breath You Take by The Police) could you please give it a try and tell me what you think? it's italian i was answering norskebanana, you know italy celebrated their 150 years of unity, and in my opinion italy is in a very bad shape regarding both politics and economy, therefore there's nothing to celebrate...

"I don't think of bands as something fitting in one single genre and not more?" Yeah I still do that, I don't get your point... Anyway I think we have two totally different points of view which both have their legitimacy...btw "noisecore" has nothing to do with noise-rock ;D

What I do in my freetime is none of your concern, but in order to calm you I have to add that it was in the morning of the 31st, that I published this (I can honestly say) piece of shit, cause I actually wrote it months ago on the JB's shoutbox... :D

Chaotic hardcore's legitimacy is on shakier and more subjective ground, but you are a complete fool if you think that 'noisecore' is a made up scene term. 'Noisecore' is just a cute amalgamation of 'noise [rock]' and 'hardcore'. Do you remember that one time when you said "I don't think of bands as something fitting in one single genre and not more"?

Anyways, since you are pushing this whole rigid genre cages idea on me so much, I think you owe me an explanation as to how it is impossible for someone to still be open minded about music while still recognizing that sub-genre tags are absurdly useful tools for finding similar music and describing artists. Maybe this isn't how you see it, but I don't think of bands as something that can be one genre and one genre alone.

Mathcore in my experience is much more filled with empty technical nonsense and tends to have a complete lack of any overarching song structure, with an entire song consisting of nothing but a bunch of disconnected riffs. How can you say that chaotic hardcore is exactly the same thing as mathcore when it's a label created by fans who almost certainly are aware that mathcore exists, in their minds there must be a difference between the two genres, correct? You're going out of your way to say that they're *~*~*~*~EXACTLY~*~~*~*~* the same thing, which is objectively false.

The existence of many superfluously specific genres has really done the opposite of what you described; it allows me, someone who doesn't like a whole lot of metal, to efficiently find new bands who play a distinct style of music that I enjoy. If only broad labels were used to categorize music, someone with discriminating tastes would have to go through the tedious endeavor of wading through countless bands and artists in order to find satisfying new music.

As someone who does not listen to a whole lot of metal, I can't say that the multitude of genres have alienated me even one bit. I think that there can never be enough different genres, so long as each one describes a legitimately differentiable style of music. I feel that it's simply inaccurate to say that chaotic hardcore "is just mathcore"; chaotic hardcore brings together influences from many sources, such as the aforementioned mathcore, grindcore, metalcore, screamo, and others. I am not someone who typically likes mathcore, grindcore, or any of the influences I mentioned, however I do find that I enjoy the music of many chaotic hardcore bands.
