I love both and I'm sort of relieved because I didn't know what to expect and because they said the new album will have a bit of a different and more uplifting direction so I'm always a bit scared when I read something like this as you can't be sure what you'll get in the end. And yes, the direction is indeed different and they do handle it very well, at least judging from the two new songs. So I'm definitely excited to listen to the entire album now :) You seem to like the new songs too?

I agree! I wonder if he uses as much footwork behind the keyboard as when he plays guitar. ;) It doesn't seem like they are coming to Sweden this tour, but maybe later in 2023. It was years since they played here. I saw them back in 2011, I remember the sound and the venue was awful and they seemed a little on edge to be honest.

Hahaha that's indeed the most important question here! Yeah, they're not coming to Germany either this year - well, they do but it's only a festival date and I'm not into festivals at all so I won't go but also hope for a few more "real" dates in 2023. And they should definitely hurry up and return to Sweden to make up for 2011! But hopefully at another venue of course.

There isn't so much existing stuff at the moment but I think Ex:Re is really cool, that's the solo project of Elena from Daughter, it's quite depressive at times but you love the depressing The Rose bops so I guess that's fine lol For weird Asian stuff, I'd recommend CHAI. They sound like hyped-up kawaii craziness and make it work somehow. Oh and check out Goat Girl, they're really great as well.

Dean who? :D My library is anything but varied, I just end up listening to the same 20 songs all week and then the next week the procedure is repeated. If all people were like me, there wouldn't be a single recommendation algorithm out there, that's how lame I am lol (My youtube history is more varied if that counts...)

Yes, but in the end they all understand each other. As a native speaker of Turkish, I needed to make a great effort to understand them, especially when I first arrived there. It's probably like the differences between Swiss German and Standard German, or not? :) Well said, the cities have their own souls. After you told it to me, I googled your city. Even with the tourists, it seems to have a unique tranquility. I added Weimar to my travel list! When I was in high school, I had a Norwegian dream, had a desire to study and live there, but I couldn't. Well we'll see what the future holds. Did I tell you that I formed a band in Argentina? I found people on a website and met them some times. I wrote some tunes, too. "Those were the days my friend. We thought they'd never end" as Mary Hopkin said :D

Yes, it's been a long time. I agree, time really flies. Things are changing. And yep, even though Argentinians have an accent that is hard to understand, I was able to communicate with them. I also understood what Chileans told me which is an accomplishment for me, because even Argentinians can't understand Chileans. I saw it with my own eyes when I was with a friend from Chile at a butcher shop. The butcher asked several times "How?" "What?" when my amigo talked :D I knew that living there was more helpful to sharpen my language skills than trying to learn things by reading grammar books. I'd like to visit Germany one day, especially Hamburg because of the movies that Fatih Akin directed. Where do you live in Germany? Oh I see, let's keep on talking here then!

¡Hola! ¿Cómo andas? Yes! So sorry that I now could log in to last.fm. Seems like it have some extra features. :) I have lived in Argentina for about 3 months and I can say I enjoyed it. Recently, I needed to come back to Turkey. When I was there, I've been listening to local radios a lot. It was also good. Was a great experience for me. I met amazing people, have got wonderful memories that I will never forget. Yes, in Argentina people were crazy to play Pokémon GO! They play it in secure places because there's always a risk of robbery :D If you use WhatsApp, we can talk there sometimes. Talk to you later!

Hey! How have you been? Sorry for the late respond! I have been travelling, was a very long trip including Frankfurt, Rio, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Montevideo and Colonia. In the end I have arrived in Argentina. Here I will be studying a Master programme. Don't know what future brings but I am hopeful. Here I don't have my computer with me so my iPod is the only way of listening to music. So how have you been so far? How about your new cool music finding discovery? I hope everything is ok. Take care! Greetings from Argentina :)

I do the same! I also check that mini weekly playlist Spotify makes for me. First I thought it was only for me just because I'm a loyal user of it but then I knew it was for everyone. :) It's possible to find hidden gems in that playlist. I don't think they followed you by accident. They must be some wise guys to differentiate a cool person with a marvellous taste in music from a Justin Bieber fan. :D I try not to generalize people depending on their musical choices but I believe what we listen gives important clues about our personalities. The music influences us and our behaviours. In my case, it even helps me create alter egos. Felino Rosas is one of them. It's the result of my interest in house music with dark vibes. I recorded a few songs some months ago and I felt good trying something different. You can give it a listen here https://soundcloud.com/felinorosas. You've got a cool job, that's for sure.

Each song is attached to a specific memory in our lives. When we listen to them, it feels like we live that moment once again. Oh really? Must be such an honor to be followed by The Chameleons! None of my favourite bands followed me back on social networks :( It's really a huge playlist of several genres. Hope you like it. Indeed! The most bothersome thing of Spotify is those ads, and if you use it on mobile, it doesn't let you skip the songs before they finish so I only use it on my computer. At least you solved the ad problem. I still struggle though. To be honest nothing beats having the albums/songs ready on your MP3 player. And It's even better if you have them with the album covers. :) Apart from being a fellow "good" music lover, what do you do? Thank you, I'll surely let you know as soon as I record new stuff!

Thank you so much for listening to my songs! It means a lot to me. Though I'm not professional, I put some love and piece of memories in my music. You're right, maybe one day I can be able to share my songs with more people. Your playlist is just fantastic. I hope you keep updating it. Without a shadow of doubt I'll always enjoy it. "Just Another Day" is a catchy tune. It makes me imagine a scene from 80's in Hamburg. *Randomness* :) I like Sharon Van Etten and Courtney Barnett. And I LOVE The Chameleons! Script of the Bridge is one of the best debut albums ever recorded in post-punk history in my humble opinion even though my favourite album from them is Strange Times. "Modernistic" post-punk bands definitely owe them. Thank you for reminding me how much I missed listening to their songs. The rest of your playlist is also awesome. Already following you there on Spotify and here is my very mixed playlist. http://tinyurl.com/hfsfho9

Haha I know that feeling! You suddenly hear a badass song on the radio or on TV, you get focused on the lyrics. When you just start to figure out what the lyrics say, the song ends and leaves you in sorrow. You just can't find it. I clearly remember that I have spent my whole day to find a song I heard in a video. I couldn't find it and then I downloaded the video, uploaded it to YouTube. YouTube directly told me what song it was to warn me for the copyright stuff. But anyway, with the joy of the victory I slept in peace. :D So I am glad you found what you were looking for in my playlist. :) You can also share your favourite tunes/playlists with me. I always need new cool music. Take care!

Indeed. I miss the old last.fm. I used to be more active here. By the way, do you have Spotify? I find it useful though. I knew it! :) I've got a basic knowledge in German, but I'm eager to learn more. Here is the playlist I made for you. The songs are in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Turkish and German. Might be the soundtrack of a movie where the history takes places in several countries. :) Hope you enjoy it. http://tinyurl.com/jpsn5ur (TinyURL link) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4Qy-WlcElfG9fgUn3sZ89PQezQLt5oZJ (YouTube link)

You are so right. Yes, you can give it a try once again. Learning a language is like cooking. It's fun. :) I can make a playlist for you to listen on Spotify or YouTube if you want to. You're welcome. Glad to know that you liked it. I would like to learn Hochdeutsch one day. I've heard in Niedersachsen, they speak the best version of it, or maybe I'm wrong. :)

Exactly! :) No, but I am thinking of moving to a country in South America. You're right. I've been learning Spanish on my own and listening to music in Spanish has helped me a lot. I can tell I speak Spanish but learning really never ends. Spanish is a morphologically rich language with many dialects and varieties. And to be honest, there are many great songs in Spanish. Soda Stereo was one of the best bands of Argentina. Their frontman Gustavo Cerati which also had amazing solo works passed away in 2014. Hope you like this song. I love listening to it with headphones :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jad11Q-ZCyw

Wow, what a nice course! My young Sister studies Journalism and she's trying to study abroad. She already works writing for a newspaper, but she wants to do something related to magazines and culture. Do you have any tip for her? Yes, I do study. I'm in the last year of Engineering, but the teachers decided to start a strike, so I don't know when I'll be able to come back to studies :( My course is related to Mechanics, Eletronics, Robotics, Computer Programming, Automation and Control of Industrial Systems. But last year I made the National test to select students to the University courses. I may find a place for studying German in Rio, isn't it crazy? :P Take care and I'll be waiting for your reply :)

Yeah, the Brazilian people didn’t deserve such humiliation, but at least it was good to make us aware that Football isn’t that important and that our players are so freaking rich and doesn’t even try hard to fight for our National team. My Opa was in Maracanã during the 1950 WC. He saw Uruguay beats us in the final and he said that the whole stadium was in sepulchral silence. But somehow life goes on and since 1998 WC I don’t have big expectations about Brazilian Football. I know the feeling because I was a kid and it was the first WC I was actually following and it was painful to see France kicking our Brazilian fat arses. I must confess that I made a cartoon of Ronaldo Fenômeno making fun of a random German in the 2002 WC, I’m sorry about that, it was just a funny drawing from a 11 years-old gal, but now the feelings have changed <3

Oh, Schadenfreude! “Schadenfreude ist die schönste Freude, denn sie kommt von Herzen” It’s so interesting that German is able to describe feelings or situations just with one single Word, while another Languages need to use a complete sentence for it. Every time I read “Schadenfreude” I instantly think about Nelson Muntz from The Simpsons show. His “ha-ha” pretty much sums the thing up. And “Muntz” sounds a German last name, don’t you think? It also remembers me of Amélie Poulain when she says she likes athletes who cry with disappointment. I must confess that I also have some sympathy for them because I know the taste of failure. Even so, I usually laugh when a team that defeated us before, taste the same thing or maybe when I just don’t like the player e.g. Cristiano Ronaldo.

I really can’t comprehend how they can listen to crappy Music. Maybe it’s just a requirement to become a Football player. I can’t understand why on Earth someone that is capable of running with a ball, kicking it, thinking about a strategy and take precision decisions in seconds cannot simply choose a decent song! No way! My respect for Reus definitely disappeared. I even needed to google it because I still had hope that it was just a misunderstanding. I must start to understand that not all German players are that nice e.g. Toni Kroos LOL Xabi is the only player I truly admire (in the cultural aspect) because he seems so cool! He listens to bands like Black Keys, Lou Reed, Belle & Sebastian and Radiohead. He's always talking about music or TV series on his Twitter, not to mention he likes to take nice Pictures and also talk about movies. Sticker album has only one purpose: take all of your money :P I’m dying to try it, but yet I still don’t know what to write to them :(

I created my account just because I had a friend that really convinced me to create one, but I don’t use it because it’s like you’re talking alone to a very extense Universe. If I want to talk alone, I prefer to do it on "my own" or writing my stories. I check it every now and then because actually you don’t need to have an account to see what they’re posting. Me too! I have a fb, but I don’t use it anymore because I had some problems with it. It’s really hard to not having a fb these days because everyone has one and it feels like the whole world has a “Like” button or something to share on fb. I totally agree about it and it’s really hard to make people understand your choice. Few months ago, I texted a friend and I said that whenever our friends plan to hang out, he should let me know and he said “Well, you’re not connected, doesn’t have fb or whatsapp”.

I have an e-mail, Skype and cell phone, why doesn’t it make me connected? People usually forget about the meeting in real, the eye contact, the phone calls… Everybody is busy with their cell phones and typing something or spending the whole day on the Internet when someone really nice can be just by our side! Last time I saw a couple that arrived in the restaurant where I was and I realized that while they were waiting for their meal, they were next to each other but each one typing their own cell phone and without exchanging a single word. Yes, last.fm is really awesome and I really feel amazed by the fact that Music can gather people from all over the world and it’s fantastic that similar musical taste also influences about the other aspects and tastes, like personality, interests, etc. I use to call it as “cultural empathy”. <3

Wow, thanks to let me know about that! Yeah, I can comprehend the reasons they don’t sing these parts anymore :X F*ck yeah, Klose! If it wasn’t enough that he took revenge of the 2002 WC, he also beat Ronaldo becoming the top scorer of all time! I hope he can come back too ;) It’s not easy to find der Spiegel where I live, but I just said that because our Press talked about it. Brazil is a multicultural country, it’s so mixed and the realities are always clashing. The top problem is the gap between the social classes, the rich ones are so rich and the poor ones don’t even have opportunities to change their condition, it's the worst income distribution possible scenario. Even so, our Government tries hard to deconstructs this difference through social politics, but there are lots of things to change such as an improvement in the Education and Health System and mostly a political reform.

It pisses me off to see the outrageous cases of corruption and our economy is collapsing and this recession is making the working class (the one that supports the whole nation) suffer. I live next to the most important Oil capital and I’m seeing lots of people losing their jobs, so I really don’t know if I’ll get a job when I finish my course. As I promised you these are the songs: 1st one: “If you’re an Argentinean, so tell me how it feels… To have only 2 Cups, one less than Pelé” and the 2nd one: “1000 goals, 1000 goals, 1000 goals… Only Pelé, only Pelé, Maradona is a snorter!” Maybe it’s not that funny or clever, but it definitely made laugh when there was a crowd singing it out loud :P

I must confess that I laughed when they lost the America Cup against Chile LOL When they finally make it and become humble people, I’ll change my name to Evita or anything like that. Yeah, I can try to search about it and maybe ask them about the average shipping price :) Sometimes I think about not having a baby, but when I listen to these songs or watch ads like this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvHIzBIreEU I start to reconsider it. I’m starting to blush here! I’m glad you liked my pastime description even if my teacher used to say that I spoke German like a robot :( Btw, she’s the one that showed us the Rammstein video LOL Headphones are like a door to the parallel Universe! But some Brazilians just forget about them and start to play their crappy songs out loud. And Züge seem to be so romantic <3 I’d like to travel by train when I visit Germany *daydreaming*

Don’t worry about it, take the time you need to make it, I just don’t want to give you too much work. No, this song doesn’t have a political background. Chico said when he first heard the melody he instantly thought about childhood and he wrote more about “fairytales”. Actually “João e Maria” is the title of the famous tale “Hänsel und Gretel”. Geez, I feel ashamed for not reading Brazilian books :( I may give it a try to “Estorvo” because I’ve never read anything from Chico, I just watched a movie based on his novel called “Budapeste”. If you want to listen a political song from Chico, there’s this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT0Yq9CpNEU I found a website written in English about Brazilian Music and they also have some songs translations: www. lyricalbrazil.com/2012/03/18/apesar-de-voce

Speaking about dictatorship, today I discovered a project of Argentinean photographer that took Pictures with families of the missing people during the period of the dictatorship in Argentina and Brazil. It shows the Picture during that time and then they “recreate” it now with the empty space of the missing person. He lost his brother or something like that. www.gustavogermano.com I found an article about it written in German www.spiegel.de/spiegel/print/d-73600021.html (Always der Spiegel, huh? :P)

How can someone replace Paul? It’s inconceivable! I guess he only said that because acting isn't his primary goal. But I agree that he never looked bad or uncomfortable because Musicians are usually used to perform and music videos are like a natural consequence of their work. But his personality is very intriguing, so I can’t really say if he would succeed on acting career besides singing, playing guitar and writing/producing songs. I guess they already passed through lots of situations that tested their “reason of existing” as a band and their willing of playing together, so it gives them a great chance of reaching a very long career. Good for us! Tschüss!

Btw, you know Paul starred in a film, right? I just saw the teaser and I'd like to know where I could find the whole movie because I’m really curious about his acting, but I think they didn't release it yet. The only few times that I saw Banks acting was during the clips of “Game for Days” and “Young Again”. I guess it must feel great to performance their own video clip, they bring it to another level and we must remember that a song is usually a story to tell, to feel, so it’s great to add the visual part to the sound part. Sure, they don’t need to use this trick to become famous. If they really wanted, they could be a mainstream band with commercial songs. Aww, I just hope they can keep going on tour till they are 70, so maybe I can enjoy their concert with my grown up kids and then I'll say "When I was your age... etc". It also satisfies me when I see that I influenced someone in a good way, we must keep our job to spread Interpol to the World. <3

Not to mention that you can realize the finest details that might be missed. Yeah, I prepared a list, but I’m really afraid that it can be tiring because it’s a little bit long and I’m not sure if I should overwhelm you with too much Brazilian songs. Chico is one of the most important artists in Brazil, it’s just s shame he’s not that appreciated nowadays. He’s also famous for his books, plays, etc. He wrote political songs during the dictatorship period just through his poetry. I’m sending a song of him to you: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tQdqepsLOs Thank you, it’s been really great to get your messages, I’m really glad to find someone like you ^^ Auf Wiedersehen!

Speaking about the instrumental songs, have you ever listened to “Interstellar: String Quartet Tribute to Interpol”? It’s pretty amazing and I guess I’m going to play it on my wedding day LOL I can tell that you’re a great reader by the way you write ;) It’s hard to pick only one… Meine Hobbys sind lesen, Texte und E-Mail schreiben, kochen, fotografieren, Musik hören, spazieren gehen und Filme sehen… Yeah, I remember once the teacher showed us a video of Rammstein during the German class and I was a little bit scared O__O

It’s a pity that your relatives are not that close to each other. My Family from my Mom’s side always make a huge meeting to celebrate the Family. I’ve never been in this reunion though. Soon we will celebrate 200 years since the first members came to Brazil. But who knows, maybe you can discover that you have a relative in Brazil :P Nice! I had the same idea, but I started to think that maybe the lyric would be a better option. Yeah, I’ll ask my Mom to buy to me and I just hope they can keep the same price, because this brand usually rips off LOL Your shirt is really nice and I wish Brazil could have more shops like that. Does they ship to another countries outside Europe? Because this shop I’ve showed you they send to another countries, but I don’t have any idea of the shipping price. Reading about the meanings really opened my mind about it and even if I don’t agree I always find it so interesting.
