I found a Foals song I think isn't too bad! 2 am! It's off their last album, Life is Yours. I haven't ventured to listen to anything else yet from it. It popped up on a Daily Mix on Spotify. Seeing your artists from the last 7 days, I'm seeing some heavy Mighty Lemon Drops play! I have become OBSESSED with them! I'm a member of the Mighty Lemon Drops fan page on facebook. Posted the song Sympathise With Us and Paul Marsh (singer of the band) responded with 'Thx Chuck. Enjoy.' Made my day! Glad I was able to let him know how much his music means to me.

Hi 👋🏼 I will give it a listen. I like Spanish Sahara, an old one of theirs. Re The Mighty Lemon Drops, I really liked the song you shared on Facebook, so I went and listened to their entire back catalogue at the weekend and found quite a lot to like! Not sure how they totally passed me by. I especially like their early songs. As I said, they remind me of The Teardrop Explodes, in fact they covered one of their songs (When I dream - on their live album) but with a bit of The Stone Roses mixed in, and some 60s psych rock influence. I was going to message you about it. That’s so cool that the singer of the band replied to you, I can understand how that would make your day. Thanks so much for the recommendation!

Getting excited about going to Reading Festival in August 😁. I currently have the new Working Men's Club and Beabadoobee albums on heavy rotation. Got my ticket to see The Cure (again!) in December. 👍

Congrats on accomplishing soon the "5.5k artists listened to" milestone :-) ... I saw us both in the "Discovery Leaderboard" section (Oct. 2-8): last DOT fm/user/brandonjp/listening-report/week ... How are you doing on your position of the Earth currently? I guess you and your family also avoid public crowds lately in these pandemic times, same as we here in Germany ... Stay safe (and let us clean hands a few times a day) - and let the tracks keep us company in these "sad" times, Fran

Same for me, I also use spotify more lately... Did you notice? it is your 11th scrobbling anniversary today! ... How fast time flashed by listening to wonderful music, ain't it so? May you have many more such musical anniversaries, and even more fascinating music experiences in the years to come! ... Stay safe!

Hiya, thanks for the shout. I did catch Another Sky recently - flew over to Dublin to see them and they were absolutely stunning! There's a lot of talent in that band, can't wait to see them grow... crossing fingers for a full-length this year! I see you've been listening to Calva Louise recently, lovely stuff - I played on an all-dayer with them last year in Manc and they were a definite highlight.

AS are over at SXSW at the moment, so that can only mean good things for them - just can't wait to hear more from them! I'm in a group called Wax Futures - we're on Spotify and the usual other digital channels. Our back catalogue is being resissued by a great Brum label called Die Das Der this month which is quite exciting! Have you heard of Squid? They're another fab band I've come across recently who are over at SXSW.

You are very welcome Chuck. They are local lads who went to my kids old school and left before my kids started there. I discovered them because they were supposed to play a fundraising gig at the school, but in the end they didn't. They were called Red House Glory before and changed their name, their line-up (and their sound a bit too) last summer. I have been to see them as Red House Glory a couple of times and chatted to them about their old school and music teacher. I hope they're going to break through with the new sound. I think they really deserve to! Really glad you love their music!

Found Red House Glory on Spotify. Not bad. Enjoyed the three ep's. Have to say that they are much better as Lullaby.

Yes! I loved Machine instantly but wasn't sure about the other two singles, Something to remember me by and weighed down (Something to remember me by is a bit too New order influenced for my taste - they were never my favourite band back in the day). But I have to say, I really like some of the other songs on the album: Press enter to exit, Point of no reply and World below especially. I'm going to see them at Koko at the end of the month. Second time this year and really looking forward to it!

Hi Chuck, sorry for the late reply, I only got this today. Last-fm don't send me notification e-mails any more and I was away in France for 2 weeks. I only got back last Thursday late and this is the first time I have been on the Last-fm website since. I think I have listened to 1 song that you shared on Facebook. Have a lot of catching up to do on the music listening front!

If you're bored with music, ambient is a very good thing to try out. It's surprisingly fresh. I recommend Eno to everyone that's fed up with music, and people I never thought would listen to him have fallen in love. The album I recommended is a very good starting point, since there's not that many ambient pieces and they're not overly long. He has lots of albums comprised of only ambient, I'd recommend Apollo if you want more of that. If you like Another Green World here's a great chart for Eno beginners, which should help you find more of his stuff: http://music.hyperreal.org/artists/brian_eno/brianeno.html As a bonus, here's one of my favourite songs of his: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrZYP8SzlN8

Thank you. I used to be much more critical towards music, but somehow after studying it for over ten years I've grown to appreciate every little tune. Sure, I do find music often boring or uninteresting, but haven't sentenced anything as horrible for years. I find good stuff in every radio bubblegum pop song. I think you're underestimating yourself, as a fan of Bowie I'd say you too are quite open-minded towards music, seeing how many genres he tackled during his life. Have you listened to Brian Eno? He made Low, Lodger and Outside with Bowie, and is best known for his pioneering work in ambient music. Yeah, ambient sounds really stupid in a nutshell, but it's actually very calming and interesting. I urge you to try out Eno's 1975 masterpiece Another Green World, which contains Bowie-esque Art pop and rock, with short ambient songs sprinkled in there. It's on Spotify!

Hi! Thanks for your response. I truly loved 'meeting' new friends here on Last fm. I 've listened to Wand before, pretty good. Not familiar with Jacco Gardner. Have to give a listen. Been listening to Karnivool lately. Aussie band, sort of prog. The lead singer is also the lead singer in another band, Birds of Tokyo. They are one of my favorite bands. Take care and I'll 'talk' to you again, my friend.

Hi, Fran! With the switchover on Last fm, I'm not on here much anymore. I can't bring myself to delete my account, but I really only check my shouts and my e-mails. You know me though, always looking for new bands and sounds. So please, if you hear anything you really like, let me know. Take care and hope to 'talk' to you soon.

Hello Fran! I've had quite a busy summer working on my MA thesis. Now I only have to put the finishing touches and I'm done with it. How was your summer? I saw on facebook that you were travelling :) As for Royal Blood, I listened to their album in entirety just once and it's not enough for me to form my final opinion about them, but, so far, I think they're ok. Have fun at their gig!

Oh, it often happens to me as well, remember Biffy Clyro? :) Tame Impala are great. I'm impressed at how talented these guys are. Actually, Kevin, the lead singer, does all of the TI's music by himself, he needs the band mainly for live shows, but most of the members of the band are engaged in other projects, it's just like one great collaboration of talented guys and I think it's awesome. For example, Cam, the current base player for TI, has his own band called The Growl, I really like them too. Here's the video for one of their singles, Liarbird: http://youtu.be/o1rSu3dQz-Y featuring other members of Tame Impala :)

Hello Fran! The uni starts in October, but I was busy with other things as I was doing an internship in a translation office for a few weeks. As for Arctic Monkeys, I still have mixed feelings about their new album. I didn't like it at first listen, now it's growing on me and I even have a few songs stuck in my head, but still, they're not the Monkeys I fell in love with years ago.

I haven't seen Django too and I don't know if I ever will because I'm not a fan of Tarantino's style. Even my love for Leo is not enough to convince me to see the film ;) But Shutter Island and Inception are must-sees! Shutter Island has this kind of mysterious plot that I just love and Inception... well, I've seen it twice and I'm still not sure if I got it :D But the film is very nicely done.

I might have had a crush on Leo when I was in my very early teens and the only film I saw with him was Titanic where he had this cute boyish face, but a lot has changed since then. Now, when I see his name in the cast I just know that the film is going to be good simply because 1) he's a great actor and 2) he carefully chooses his roles, so he wouldn't appear in some rubbish. In other news, it turns out that I will see Everything Everything at Open'er! :D
