Oh, and if you're still looking for italian bands, check out EGONON: musical influences from Crimson and PFM to System of a Down, philosophical lyrics sung in italian and some nice, obscure vibes. Let me know!

Oh, and you should check out Conciorto (Italian pun with the words "Concert" and "Garden"). An electronic band where sounds are made from... vegetables!!! Just a divertissement really, but fun to hear! Of course, let me know any band you're particularly into right now, always looking forward for some cool, new music!

Nice to hear that! Where do you live, in the US? I've just been in New York City once, but would love to come back some day. Some Italian bands I like very much and would recommend: 1) Klimt 1918 - Shoegaze meets Katatonia. "Undressed Momento" is their melancholic rock debut and much closer to U2 sound: start here if you're in the mood. They add more and more reverberation on each record. If you want more shoegaze, their latest "Sentimentale Jugend" is very intense. Step back to "Just in Case We'll Never Meet Again" if it's too much :-) 2) Studio Murena - Band plays jazz, vocalist sings rap-style. BADBADNOTGOOD among their inspirations, definitely. Check their s/t record. 3) Calibro 35 - Instrumental band which plays music inspired by Italian detective movies from the 70s. 4) Corde Oblique - Female fronted acoustic folk band from Naples, very delicate and poetic. Check "The Stones of Naples": the song Barrio Gotico got me hooked at first listen!

Man it hurt my soul that me and my best friend weren't able to grab tickets for it because of scalpers. I honestly don't even know what I'd internally feel upon seeing Patton in person after having listened to him for so many years. Here's hoping it's a kickass show my dude :)

Dude, it's nice to hear from you again. Guys like you and Dogger_Doge (or whatever the hell David's main name was back in the day) were one of the main reasons I stuck around last fm for so long. I rarely use social media these days, and I just occasionally scrobble stuff because I still like the idea of music statistics, even if the social aspect of the site has been utterly neutered. There are too many great stories lost to this "upgrade" and I just want to keep it alive, is all.

Appreciate the message, man. I ended up downloading Tilt, The Drift and Bisch Bosh before my laptop went ahead and committed suicide on me last night so I look forward to digesting that one. Hopefully I can appreciate both of his styles!

I noticed you're a big Scott Walker fan. Steven Wilson often namedropped him in interviews and stuff but I only checked out Scott 3 and 4 recently due to an uncle recommending him. He's excellent to say the least. Any other recommendations from him for me?
