Rock Guru, we talked a long time ago… would you do me a favor? Please scrobble something from artist nameTomomi Midair World. She’d like to save the world, and I’d like to help her do that. Seriously though, I would like for her to have more listeners. Mark the end is my suggestion, but any will do.

ありがとうございます。Thanks! I’ve been studying (off and on) Japanese since COVID started when I had one slow week at work. I can’t follow along with song lyrics or a real conversation. I get lost… I keep trying though and hopefully I’ll get the hang of it at some point. I know how to say what I know how to say, but that’s far different from a following a free flowing convo. Anyway, she does a lot of live street shows on YouTube… it would be great to see you there in the comments. But whatever, don’t mean to be pushy… here’s one of the songs with translated lyrics. https://youtu.be/m31UpsTYS1Q Anyway, thanks again.

Oh damn! I am so sorry! I just saw your message on my profile! I assumed nobody answers anymore around here, and most of my notifications are spam hahaha well well, I don't have a stereo system sadly, I can't afford it. Plus, I am more of a headphones person, does that count? hahaha but, last year I made the transition from mp3 for hi-fi, and got this sony hi-fi player, and the earbuds are pretty pretty good. I would love to own some high end Seinheisser, but I'll have to save a lot for that, but it's doable, and it's worth it. I like to bring music with me into the mountains, so I am all for portability. What about you?

Yeah definitely Empty Country on the number one spot, such an amazing album. Dunno how I'd rank them but some other albums I really liked from 2020: Owen - The Avalanche, The Avalanches - We Will Always Love You, The Garden - Kiss My Super Bowl Ring, Brian Fallon - Local Honey, This Will Destroy You - Vespertine. Didn't listen to nearly enough new albums last year to be honest. What were your favourites?

Hello! My name is Filipe, I have a project called "Tudo Passa" and I just released my second EP called "Toque", this time in a more electronic vein, focused on synthesizers, something kind of lo-fi / psychedelic. I'm posting here to see if I can spread this new EP out there, I hope you can listen to it and enjoy it, here's the link: https://youtu.be/SCnecECKWUI

Popped over to your profile to see what you're listening to lately and I see Carissa's Weird first up. This makes me so happy! Such a beautiful band. How do you like them? Oh, and hello, btw! Hope you've been enjoying many gigs since the Mount Eerie show last year.

Haha, sounds like you found out just in time! Better before than after, right? I think some tickets are still available, did you snatch one up?

Ahh, I know the type of experience you're referring to - holy/spiritual/transcendental, whatever you want to call it, when they happen they're just so wonderfully and deeply life-affirming. That's one of the main drawing cards of going to a show for me - experiencing those moments. Glad you had it in a big way with the Apartments, here's to hoping Mag Fields will do the same!

Haha yeah, alas, the only Magnetic Fields shows will be in Melbourne, but I think it's totally worthwhile to go down to see them there (if you can manage it). I'm going down with a couple of friends and we're gonna make a big weekend out of it (we're seeing both shows) which should be rad. They've never been out of here before and I doubt it'll happen again so no way I'm missing it. :) How were The Apartments?

Got Zorns Six Litanies for Heliogabalus, which I've heard before... and just had to hear again.

Yeah I've heard the comment/criticism that scout sounds like cat power but since I've never listened to the latter it really doesn't mean anything to me. I lost all my zorn along with all my other files when my laptop died a while back. They were acquired through less than upstanding means, and while I could acquire them again I really don't want to spend the time and effort it takes to do it. These days I simply stream... so much easier. I am missing zorn and Henry cow the most... bought a cow digital recording (that I'll be able to replace if need be) and came very close yesterday to buying another one... I'm sure I'll get some more of both in the near future.

Peppermint Trolley Company - figured it just had to be a 60s band! It's been quite a while... I lost all my john Zorn! Well anyway, just saying "hi."

I'll check out the two artists you mentioned. Screamales is definitely my favorite find in quite a while... probably since I stumbled into Stereolab 3 years back or so. Yeah this sites lost a lot of luster but it does at least still scrobble.

I hadn't noticed that "beta" had left the banner. It sure does leave a lot to be desired if this is the extent of the redesign vision.

oh good glad you're into them! I actually saw Brandon Can't Dance open up for alex g, his stuff was too experimental for my taste, I preferred the other two bands that opened up- eskimaux and girlpool. I'll have to check out spencer radcliffe, I'm a fan of the ep with R.L Kelly... and I downloaded cold foamers' stuff on bandcamp after your recommendation, I'm liking them! I'll have to keep an eye out for a show. As far as any other bands try out Vundabar, Bored Nothing, Walter TV (two band members also play in Mac DeMarco's live band), and Holy Wave

Why can't you stream music? Yeah I can see how that could put a damper on things... in a minor way I'm in the same situation with the few artists I like that don't have their music on streaming programs (for one example - John Zorn.) I'm not paying for an album and I simply don't want to take the effort I used to take to get them. Have you heard any new-to-you artists lately that you like?

http://youtu.be/3TmKvkndndQ Screaming Females are my latest musical love. It used to be easy to see if someone had heard a particular artist here... anyway I'll leave a YouTube link. Got to get to work... It's going to be a full day. I'll be back. lol
