It's "Angel" by Kazimierz Sichulski, a Polish painter. It's a painting I've discovered in a museum with a girl I used to be in love with, so it bears a particular symbolic meaning to me, bringing me back to these days... I often change my avatar, but I always end up going back to this one...

"We want, or wanted, to believe that without love we would disappear, that love, somehow, would save us that, yeah, if we have love, give love and know love, we are truly alive and if there is no love, there would be no life. The Terror is, we know now, that even without love, life goes on... we just go on… there is no mercy killing."

I'm not even sure I'd call this a Metal album at this point tbh. But it is an incredible find. Thanks. Maybe it is just me but I hear a lot of Kayo Dot in this.

Well, I'm not that much into contre-intuitive "avant-garde" (God, I hate this pretentious use of the word) anymore tbh, in which I don't see the point apart impressing other people. But the medieval singing of Charlie Looker delivers some beautiful and soulful moments as always and that Stern release sounds...interesting. Like a more finished version of their previous attempt, which was rather dull. The rythmic section is disorientating yet entrapping, as it is often the signature with Toby & Keith. Reminds me a lot of My Fruit Psychobells. motW, ToO, it seems these guys always had this weird dreamy approach in common. I remember asking Chuck about a new ToO album, he told me they were supposed to reunite, I guess it's not happening. Have you heard of a danish indie band called Mew? When you listen, the influence they had on ToO sounds blatant. They have the same "candid" singing style, same instruments, similar way of playing. It's like ToO but without the "beauty vs ugly" part.

Checked out Mew just now, and i can hear the similarties, while ToO is more sophisticated Mew on the other hand is straight forward while having that same singing style. Hell yes i would like a new ToO. Hm, i've given up on impressing peoples with music taste long ago so i couldn't given more the f.. Thanks to you those years ago for showing me those artists/bands i still have an interest to that particular style of music, tho i either ain't listening to it that much now i'd still wont rule it out. But ofcourse listen to what you prefer anyway.

"At a time when almost every aspect of international political life, and a growing number of those who matter in domestic politicy, are led and exhibited in the style of secret services, with decoys, misinformation, double explanation - the kind that can hide another, or only seems to -, the spectacle confines itself to making known the weary world of the mandatory baffling, a boring series of mystery novels deprived of life and where the conclusion is always missing. This is where the realistic staging of a fight between negroes, at night, in a tunnel, must pass for a sufficient dramatic ressource." That is precisely it, my experience contrasted against the popular experience. I also have seen plenty of people also praising the story, even though it was very basic and mostly focused on the girl. And I don't recall saying anything about representing elite of anime. Though Makoto is pretty elite when it comes to his skills. Both are visually stunning works, I do not deny that. I am an avid photographer and I appreciate the attempt at realism in these movies. The profile pic thing is just representing my current mood. It just works really well and .gifs from that movie are in abundance. I don't think Your Name was trying to establish an amateur vibe, but it was representation of what a gifted director and animator can do with vast resources.

Both are extremely flawed but for vastly different reasons. In terms of length, they are also difficult to compare, but I guess I would choose Your Name over Garden of Words as it is aesthetically more varied and has more time to develop the story between the main characters. Neither is a masterpiece by any stretch though, overhyped.

If by that you mean how last.FM sold its soul to CBS Interactive by sacrificing its social aspect for more $$$, then yes.

The thing that genuinely baffles me is, hasn’t last fm only lost money by making the site shittier? Their revenue has decreased drastically since 2011, and the only they still make a profit is because they spend virtually nothing on this site. And it’s Alexa ranking has dropped even further due to the recent changes by the mods. Alienating the majority of your user base sure isn’t good for business, the only reason I put with it is because there are no real alternatives to the core service. If another company, like Spotify for instance, because I know they collect massive amounts of streaming data, comes out with a rival service, then last fm is toast.

I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion!")
