Well, it's definitely original. A nice parody of the world and society in general. Was it shorter, it could be ingenious. However, the length of 454 pages is too much for such kind of a novel, mainly because Marquez's narrations becomes a bit wearisome when the first amazement wears off. The thing you need to do is to treat all the characters and events as a parody, otherwise it seems rather confusing. Hahaha, it's unimaginable! Well, good luck with Orwell then. :D

Edit: I managed to finish "One Hundred Years of Solitude". Having the whole story read, I find it very good. It gave me some new thoughts and it was intellectually amusing to find metaphors (not necessarily correct, but, well, mine) for nearly every event. The way it was written is challenging, but this is something every fan of magical realism and of classic literature should read.

The university's starting in October, so I have a month of holidays left. I set myself a "50 books challenge". By far, during the holidays, I've read 36, and I wonder if it's possible to read 14 in September. ;D The stats thing is similar here, haha :D Though recently Aythis rises!

Oh, and expressiveness is often confused with disguising as expressive. The first refers to one's feelings while the latter implies disguising oneself as an expressive person (you can feel nothing and still act as if you were happy). So if they say they're not expressive, maybe they only act as expressive?

Haha, the lastfm got even worse! I remember that several days after the site changed, it was possible to delete a shout. I know dystopias aren't necessarily predictions, but my imagination tends to overreact. That's why reading such books (especially at night) makes me extremely anxious. Same goes for the horror books, though I rarely read any of these. "Brave New World" is a great book, although there are some illogical holes in the plot. At least for me. I don't want to enumerate anything before you read the book though. I've read some comments below the article and it seems that such "shocking messages" were spread online in 2014 (mainly on untrustworthy sites, so there's hope). I have an impression that people expand such informations to demonize the future even more and prove that the world went mad.

The first pages captured me immediately, so I can't wait to read more of it. I have the book 'Never Let Me Go' and it was fantastic. I should read 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley too and books by H.G. Wells. What I like about dystopian fiction, is as a friend said, not that they are necessary prediction, but more warnings of what could happen in the future. If you know what hunts my dreams? It's shit like this: http://wrealu24.pl/index.php/services/398-szok-czy-unia-europejska-nas-zachipuje I couldn't bear to live in such a world.

Probably it will. Though, personally, I was bored by the first pages. Only to be captured by the rest, though. I couldn't sleep after reading that and the only dystopia that ever came close to this effect was "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro. The two books made me decide that I'm not going to read any more dystopias... They haunt my dreams!

I´ve already seen them live in Dresden. They are not bad, but I don`t know why, in some way not so interesting for me.

I love that album, have to buy my own copy! I'm kind of shocked that you still use last.fm, since they updated it to new version I rarely enter here.

Just randomly lurking through profiles looking at what everyone's listening to - saw Concrescence of the Sophia on your playlist. What did you think of that? I love Mournful, but had difficulty digesting that release... - the first track felt more like two separate ones, and the second one didn't really leave the impression I hoped it would :/

Lol, ofc I meant hair, it was so lame :D. No idea why I wrote "heart". Yup, I'm very fussy!

Did you cut your heart or just your new profile picture looks like that? :D Btw, new Chelsea's album didn't blow me away but I think that there is a great potential in it, need more listening.

Of course, I forgot about new Peste Noire and Drudkh - both very decent albums! New BoP sucks so fucking much, it's too modern, fashionable and boring as hell. And I'm looking forward to hear new Chelsea's album but it's not out yet, is it?

Me too, but I'm little afraid about it. Maybe because of a few disapointments in this year, for example Infernal War or King Dude. I hope that Mgła will rescue this year.

I heard it only once but I think that it sounds like a typical Mgła song (dunno if it's good or bad). Waiting for a whole album to form my opinion

It's nice to hear that someone from abroad knows and likes Polish music bands which are less known internationally. I'm sorry that I answer so late, but recently I don't have much time to spend with computer. It's connected with my studies. About tattoos - they are things that need to be carefully considered and will remain for life. So far I don't regret my choice :D
