I know you're a fool who hasn't listened to any of their studio albums yet, but if you're gonna go with one of their radio hits, you should realise that Just Like Heaven is the correct choice.

How could you ever leave? :) what're you listening to? I've been listening almost exclusively to hip-hop, with some occasional soul/r&b

I didn't really leave, just listened way less than I used to and stopped scrobbling. I'm more active on RYM, anyway.

I've been listening to mostly prog, psychedelia, jazz fusion and jazz, Frank Zappa, Jun Togawa, and also some osts from various things.

DONT READ THIS. YOU WILL BE KISSED ON THE NEAREST POSSIBLE FRIDAY BY THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE.TOMMOROW WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE. NOW YOU'VE STARTED READING THIS. DON'T STOP. THIS IS SO FREAKY. \1. say your name ten times. 2.say your mom's name five times. 3. say your crushes three times 4. paste this to four other groups. If you do this, your crush will kiss you on the nearest Friday. But if you read this and do not paste this, then you will have very bad luck. SEND THIS TO 5 GROUPS IN 143 MINUTES. WHEN YOU'RE DONE PRESS F6 AND YOUR CRUSH'S NAME WILL APPEAR IN BIG LETTERS ON THE SCREEN. THIS IS SO FREAKY BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY WORKS.

Thnx bro, I might go back and reread your comment later while jelqing to the sound of Steven Wilson's angelic voice, in order to maximise the amount of good vibes.

I just gave it a spin, thought it was okay, and even though it wasn't Lord Worm, the vocals were still pretty good... and the breakdown on "Ill Ender" was as badass as anything on None So Vile :)

The first two are the only ones I've gone back to at least once, None So Vile speaks for itself and Blasphemy Made Flesh has interesting production (that's to say, the way they chose to mix the guitars and bass is somewhat... atmospheric? :P)

Thank you for your comment, and cute Alpha avatar :) Sorry if the Monty Python quote confused you, it was just shitposting for fun. I can't speak Russian or Ukrainian (can only read cyrillic, slowly), but I'm a Slav as well. And sorry for low compatibility, I'm terribly uncool and struggle with a lot of the experimental stuff that RYM likes, and prefer melodic, emotional music, but you can suggest some artists if you want to bring it up to medium - gave you a 'follow' :)

Np! Thanks so much for these recommendations. I planned to look into John Cale's career for a while now, but never really did, excpet for a few songs (but I don't think I have scrobbled them). Ah, Peter Gabriel and Porcupine Tree, I have also planned to check them out for so long, so I will definitely listen.

Peter Gabriel's III is pretty good, loved the first song. Listening to Porcupine Tree right now - it's amazing! I have no idea why haven't I found this album earlier (It is has both Progressive Rock and Space Rock as primary genres on RYM, and I've been looking through Space Rock album charts a lot). It's totally my thing!

Funfact about Intruder ‐ Phil Collins is on the drums there! I'm reading that it was also arguably the first prominent instance of 'gated reverb' percussion, and Collins used the same method later for 'In the Air Tonight' :) I'm glad you've discovered Porcupine Tree at last, I've gotten into them way later than I should've also... and if you liked that 'Moonloop' jam song, there's a lovely full 40 minute recording of it out there. Anyways, they haven't done any other albums quite like that one unfortunately, but if you want more spacey stuff, go earlier, and if you want more immediate songwriting, go for the later stuff.... cheers mate :)

I really like both of those, but my favourite is Lightbulb Sun - it's the first one I ever heard, has smooth production with lyrics that give it a nostalgic vibe, and a sweet blend of virtually everything they've done (their early psychedelic side, their middle alt-rock side, and their later heavy side). Have you checked out much of their non-album stuff? The In Absentia sessions had two great songs that didn't make the cut, but which I actually prefer to some of the stuff on the album itself; the badass 'Futile', and one of my favourite PT songs overall, the dreamy, shoegazey 'Drown With Me' - both are on the 'Futile' EP from 2003 :)

I use it to correct old incorrectly-tagged scrobbles I happen to catch sight of and note down over the preceding months, OCD I'm afraid.

Thank you friend, second time someone came to compliment KYE on my wall, lol. It is indeed underrated as hell, to say nothing of some of the great b-sides as well. Faye is a queen and if you know any other Chinese artists that give off her vibe, please do let me know! And wasn't expecting to ever meet someone who knows JPS but I'm glad you're in the know! I lean more towards her alternative-y stuff, but If you want more late 80's/early 90's sophistipop/city-pop/whatchamacallit, perhaps check out Kang Soo-jee (Violet Fragrance is a certified gem).

ooo in terms of cpop artists Faye is the queen but the closest to her is Sandee Chan - her 2000 and 2004 studio albums are fantastic! She has a live album released in 2005 under ' 陈珊妮2004红楼演唱会 ' which is a great showcase into what Sandee is all about - definitely check that out! In terms of newer stuff everything Deserts Chang has released is great. If you like Faye Wong's dream pop sound you will probably like Xirinay Malik's 1996 album, it is really quite a lovely deep-cut :) Will have to check out more of JPS' catalogue since I am all about alternative-y stuff haha! I am unfamiliar with Kang Soo-jee but will definitely check her out - thanks for the rec, have added her name to my ever-growing "to listen to" list!

Oh what a coincidence, I've been listening to the artist 한희정 recently and just a few days found the lovely song 웃어요 from Stranger's soundtrack!! Thanks for the rec, I don't really watch them either especially since it's hard to find time, but since my mother loves crime dramas, I asked her to check it out and let me know what she thinks, if she really likes it I might watch it too - up til now she's only watched a bit of 이상한 변호사 우영우 but didn't finish it, otherwise no K-dramas for her... but I did get her to watch a few great films (including 서편제) all of which she enjoyed haha

One thing that inspires me is memories from being young, and naive, drinking cheap Lambrusco wine in the Gianicolo Hill overlooking Rome... at sunset --- love that memory.

What inspires me is teaching African refugees how to program Javascript. What inspires me is finding out how to use maglev trains to get resources to the moon! These are the challenges that tomorrow’s gonna face. Okay? How are we gonna get clean drinking water to 2 billion Chinese people? YA GOT AN ANSWER?
