I don't think I could ever limit any one project of mine to being the 'main' one tbh! Try to keep an even and balanced output for each of them but of course that never works out ... glad you think so, I was specifically trying to go for a Slint sound with the live digital recording one "In the field..." and happily had the comparison made from a few people I've showed it to without prompting it

Quite like the early stuff too but definitely prefer the more developed sound. Aha well it's a deserving position for them to take, White Tomb is definitely one of my favourite black metal records

To be fair it's not like I can really criticise I didn't even attempt such a feat. Black metal has expanded and been incorporated into an insanely large number of different styles which I find quite cool, though a lot of the trve crowd seem to resent it. I quite like bands that really develop the dark aesthetic of it all as well as just the visceral sounds. If you haven't already listened to them listen to Altar of Plagues, preferably either their newest or their first album to start with. They're pretty awesome. In terms of 'industrial' black metal I didn't even know that was a thing and I can't imagine it being particularly enjoyable. Will listen to that album tomorrow, intrigued by the concept of psychedelic black metal. While a lot of BM is trippy there's only one or two bands I've ever come across who embrace the actual sound of psychedelic music in their music.

I've seen you stray more than once this month... DON'T THINK I DIDN'T NOTICE! :D http://velnias.bandcamp.com/album/runeeater They're doomy black in a similar way to Agalloch who I see you've been listening to. Not sure if that's what you're looking for but a start nonetheless

Not really sure if I'm honest. There's a great deal of instrumental or near-instrumental bands in the genre but most of the vocals tend to be higher from what I can recall, though they're usually quite deep in the mix so they don't stand out that much in the music.

Amazing, I've really missed listening to 'fresh' BoC tunes. Although I haven't listened to it much yet, I still think it is a masterpiece. I can't wait to get my actual CD of Tommorows Harvest! The track that I absolutly love is Come to Dust. Can't wait to listen to this album with some mates, and just chill out to these tunes! How are you feeling the new BoC?

Ah, well I've only really got into their two most recent ones so far which were both pretty good and easy to listen to, so maybe start with those? Their first is the most "critically acclaimed" though personally I didn't think too much of it, but you might think differently as there is some good stuff on there. GY!BE are frankly amazing, Lift Your Skinny Fists... is really, really good (my second favourite album), but don't let the track lengths bother you as you'll find it goes a lot quicker than you think as they're each made up of 4 or 5 separate "pieces" within which flow together so it's not like your listening to the same thing for about 20 mins! If you do take a listen then make sure you give almost your full attention to it, and I find it really rewarding since there is just so much going on there. Overall I'm still pretty new to it all, and I'm still finding new stuff.

They produce music that depends on the mood that they're in. So half of their tracks are just soundscapes or something like that, and they take years to finish a full album. One of the persons close to Boards of Canada said that their newest album would get released in like 2009, and its 2012 now, sigh, I really want to hear their new stuff! I don't know if you've heard of it, but www.twoism.org is a forum which has a great community that all share their love for Boards. You can also find great other BoC-like music there, its really great!

Hahaha, I haven't noticed it before, but it's really annoying. To be honest, I mostly download music first, give it a listen, and then I might buy an album of them, I think the internet is a great medium for artists to get known. I agree piracing is not good, but through the internet I discovered so many great artist, downloaded albums of them, listened to it, and fell in love with their music, and then I bought their album. If it wasn't for the internet, I'd probably haven't known like 8 out of 10 artists I have in my top 10. Yeah, it's a bummer their CD's are so expensive, cause they don't make them anymore, so they get limited, and prices go up. I actually haven't heard that sample before! Thank you! If you like that kind of stuff, My Bloody Valentine might be good music for you too! I'm really suprised about it aswell. I don't think they're ever gonna release their old stuff. They made like 90+ tracks for Geogaddi, and they only used 23, and one of them is completly silent..

Yes, I know them already! Though most of their old stuff sounds way different then their later songs, I still like them though. There are also live recordings of the only 3 live preformances they ever did as Boards of Canada, which features some really awesome tracks that they never officially brought out. This one, Echus is the opening song, it makes me so happy whenever I listen to it, I think of it being like Olson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjrPpzNeNZ0 You can probably download all of that stuff if you look hard enough. Apart from A Few Old Tunes there are: Boc Maxima Live @ ATP Warp Lighthouseparty Random 35 track tape And I think thats all off it, one more I should add is of the Japenese version of The Campfire Headphase, its called Macquarie Ridge. If you like The Campfire Headphase, you'll surely like this song too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFo4e0jL3Bg Listening on how they progressed in their sound is so amazing! I'm glad your so enthusiastic about them :)

I'm actually glad I don't use Spotfy, artist get very little from it, always better as nothing though. I usually download an album to check them out, and if I like them alot, I'll buy the album. Anyway, I think I actually listen to a bit too much BoC, over 3000 plays, and my 2nd artist only has a 1000, haha. I just find I put BoC on so easily, it really enanches my mood or something like that ..
