talent's not relevant. check out tommy wiseau- he fails at everything he does but will doubtlessly be remembered long after buttholes have been forgotten

yeah, but i'd only want to be famous for having created something extremely bland; quality would distract from the fame

Where is that Taylor Swift picture gif'd from? I don't like her music but wonder what it'd be like to hit that. jk

I'm seeing Earl's new album as a continuation of his last one. It's like half as long and with way less guest verses so it comes off as being a bit more measured and less frantic. I'm really enjoying it.

Yeah, I love watching Kendrick stuff on Youtube. Dunno about entry level, but if you like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32v8yZ5hrh0 i'd say to check out Earl's new album. So far I don't love it as much as Doris but there's plenty of time for that. Doris was the last album I really fell for before I moved house a couple years ago so it's really ingrained in my psyche. It's dark as fuck. He really speaks to me though. His new album is more succinct and also a bit more "chill" I suppose. Earl's one of the artists (like Kendrick) who I'm really enjoynig watching grow and get better.

I've listened to Butterfly a good 15 or so times now. Each time it's easier to listen to as a cohesive whole and each time I appreciate different elements. I'm always freaked when I look at the tracklist cause it feels like there's at least 20 songs on there.

It's definitely a dense album and requires multiple listens. The first couple times I listened I found it hard to really get into it but if you break it up into smaller chunks, or just listen to each song on its own a few times it's easier to break down and get into. King Kunta > Alright is what I'm listening to the most at the moment and it's as strong a run of songs as I could hope for. I still struggle with How Much a Dollar Cost, the whole story makes me kinda cringe if I'm honest and I find the metaphor pretty weak. Hopefully I'll come around though. Overall I think I've listened enough to say I really enjoy it at this point. He's evolved even more as a lyricist and it's almost getting scary now. Best rapper alive.
