Thank you, friend! I usually tend to keep some albums "for later", just so I can explore the artist over the years - that's why I haven't listened to the album yet! But I will gladly check it out now :D / by the way, they just released brand new album, so just letting you know, in case you missed that!

Did I ever ask you about Seven Trees? I need to find some dark electro like Dead/End and the Trauma Toxicity EP. You seem to have explored the current state of the genre... so I'm just wondering if you could point me towards some projects of similar sound. I feel like Dead/End is the adult version of dark electro, and it's nice to enjoy the genre again.

Hmm, this is quite difficult, because I'm also on the hunt for similar sounds. It's amazing what they achieved with this album, and that there's revival of this kind of industrial, but most things I can recall I saw in your library (such as Fïx8:Sëd8). | I guess you could give 2nd Face a try (however it's less modern structured/harsh electro). I'm yet to retravel bands I know to give you more proper answer here, I found it kinda hard to follow new releases (and listen to music in general) in latest two years.

yeah i was listening to 2nd Face over the last couple days. No pressure. I've been listening Pyrroline's Struggling album a lot. I love how he used the poem for James Montgomery's "The Grave" poem for the lyrics on the track of the same title. Such a beautiful piece of literature for inspiration, no wonder the track is so amazing. Well, I hope the music thing turns around for you. It usually seems to get me through difficult times, and accompany easy ones like a personal growth soundtrack. Sometimes I reset with some really resonant shit tho like these: https://snakesurikov.bandcamp.com/track/noise-session-21-08-2022 ... https://atomtm.bandcamp.com/album/texturen-iv

also if you like that Snake Surikov track, I can send it to you as a gift. I'd like to support that dude to make more noise like that, so let me know if it interests you. It feels like almost entering the death current while alive, listening to that. Uwe Schmidt's Texturen IV, is another level though if you listen with some good headphones or sound system. Actions

Hello! As for Sørgelig, I know this band, but it didn't click with me somehow. I may give it another shot tho, since even now relistening to "Faces of Disgust", I see the potential (despite a bit too raw/scandinavian character ^^) | Thanks for kind words too! If you'd like any recommendation from me, feel free to precise what field is the best for you. From black metal, seeing you have Këkht Aräkh in library, I could suggest Łza Zeschniętej Róży - polish BM with some beautiful romantic vibes. Have a nice day!

Unfortunately I know only more popular ones in that area, so: CygnosiC, PreEmptiveStrike 0.1, Siva Six (industrial) and Hail Spirit Noir, Transcending Bizarre?, Aenaon (avant-garde, but within metal). Yesterday I also searched through greek industrial tag here and both tagged bands there was quite nice (Penelopes Fiance is old school industrial/dark ambient, while Anoptron goes more into typical EBM/electro-industrial). Will search more for these because I feel disappointed in myself too ;-; /// also thx @sux for this one, will play it rn!

So, if I asked for something that's up there with Carpenter Brut, Dan Terminus and Pertubator, in the synthwave spectrum, what would you suggest? I' m looking for something quite as adventurus and diverse, cause there are a lot of run-of-the-mill synthwave stuff out there oversaturating the genre with mediocrity.

Ouh, sorry for so extremely long delay, April and May was just terribly time-consuming time for me (June still is, somehow... but I hope to at least manage it better). As for the synthwave question, it's kinda tricky, because you ask more about darksynth spectrum. Both "retro" synthwave and darksynth can be kinda repetitive, sadly. From darksynth - GosT. I'm not a huge fan of him, but his tunes are definitely original, and the more time goes, the more I appreciate some of his sounds. // as for retro synthwave, The Midnight, Ollie Wride. Latest Trevor Something albums (double album in 2020) are also brilliant (but I wouldn't call it any of these subgenres, it's just different from both)

Very cool artist I think too, glad it may be somewhat to your liking. I don't think I ever checked how long you've been using last.fm, but one of the big things I miss is having GROUPS! Such a tragedy they did away with them because like minded people could join and then go there to post all their thoughts or musical explorations. It allowed a centralized place for everyone to engage each other or just check to see what turns up. Sadge

I liked trio, being them "Unknown", "New World" and "Alone". I don't feel this album that deeply as I'd want, so I guess it's better to wait with next spins. Oh yeah, I didn't want to clutter your SB w/ a bunch of recommendations you didn't even ask for. Don't worry, it's not that I care about tidy shoutbox, and recommendations are always very welcome! Especially in electro-industrial shelf, where no matter how much I discover, I always feel I know too little, and that black metal is still too heavy in my library /// and yeah, getting interesting bands is tricky. I use recommendation tabs (as well as genres, especially the rare ones, like "old school dark electro"), but chasing bands by labels, label special releases (like Infacted's Classixx) and discussions are also very helpful. /// long story short: don't worry about cluttering, haha ^^

That's tricky question actually! Obvious question will be that both are on my top, but with further thinking I guess - mythology inspiration? Though both take different aim on how it inspires them, and also there are differences on which one is on topic (SF greek mythology, and PP eastern beliefs), both are trying to metaphorise their teachings into some kind of ideas

yesss! actually i think Sumerian Daemons is the album with the most ancient aestern and less greek influences in both sound and lyrics, and they do exactly what you say, in Mechanical Babylon for example, they metaphorise the teachings on the great whore babylon, and brought it to their own ideas and interpret it as a human tendency or lifestyle, a heart made of concrete, rather than a specific current treacherous city source of our perdition.

Kinda difficult thing to answer, as they're so different in sound. I think you'll find a lot of atmospheric stuff across whole PP discography. But I guess "Eon:Eon" is the best at combining melodies and depth. "Daimonion" is more dreamy, but actually much more closer on lyrical level to Septic Flesh. And same with "IO".

I agree, it was really nice year! Answering the question - a lot of polish black metal/relatives: 1) Biesy "Transsatanizm" - one of the weirdest things I heard in a while, but definitely awesome and inspiring, 2) Wędrowcy~Tułacze~Zbiegi "Berliner Vulkan" - I don't know, these guys outdid themselves in this EP for me, 3) Batushka "Raskol" - being great follower to "Hospodi" // As for industrial bands, I definitely loved new Hatari album, as well as Rotersand's one. If 2019 album (which wasn't available digitally until 2020) of Steril counts, I'd count also their "Empiricism", which is breathtakingly great EBM. Other than that, Dark Fortress, Katavasia, Ninshubur and Dool are also very close for my AOTY.

Well, there's a lot of gems I found in 2020, as I make trips here and there through genres I think are underrated ^^ though I don't scrobble most of them, it's just "collecting" for further (and deeper) listening. As for today only, I'd recommend Cancer Barrack, as it's just genius darkwave/gothic rock. Classic, yet very distinguishable and strong sound here. Illnurse is also great, if you search for EBM-influenced techno. And I'd add totally unknown (I was the first to scrobble her) Ninshubur - interesting dark ambient with haunted atmosphere.

A to szkoda. No i lepszy na początek. Yeah, I mean, I love all TC records, but Geometria was a bit too far experimental record to be just enjoyable. It's just how I feel when coming to old school industrial like Cabaret Voltaire or Throbbing Gristle - ambitious, great stuff, but hard to enjoy :P - and of course I'm against making copypastes of old albums, but Tamas was always trying to find new ways to express himself. Just with Geometria and Sgurr I feel he didn't match with my soul enough

It's really a mystery how music touches souls, I don't feel this negative toward Geometria, but I can fully understand it! :) I read that Tamás was struggling with the making of Sgúrr (talking about inspiration and not the technical part), and I can somehow feel it in that album. And what's your opinion about Meta?

I wouldn't say I feel "negative" in any way toward Geometria, it's rather some kind of indifference. But for Tamás' quality even indifference sounds like an insult ^^ I didn't know about this trivia, where is it from? | And, well, Meta.... Meta is definitely strongest album of TC for me! Maybe not the most atmospheric, but I guess it's the one that doesn't have real weak points at all.
