Truth be told my heart has always been in heavy metal music. I had way too much fun listening to Kid Rock and meddling in the black metal scene but I since rebounded to more low key music for my style. I’ve listened to Metallica probably well over thousands of times when I was younger. I own all their albums.

PDH isn't even that noisy or loud compared to other black metal artists. His music Is actually pretty calm and lo-fi. If I started developing tinnitus I'd probably blame it on Burzum or early Darkthrone.

It’s not loud. People who say it’s too noisy, which I’ve come across a lot of people on this site who say it is either don’t listen to enough atmospheric black metal to know what they’re talking about or simply can’t contain it well. And yes it’s more lo-fi in my opinion, that’s why I like it so much.

I did in the past. I have a lot of Madonna and paysage dhiver records but I had to lay off that hobby because I collect video games now and vinyl purchases for my favorite bands is too expensive, especially the Swedish bands like Gotham City which go for hundreds. Last record I bought was back in February and it was an impulse buy of Manilla Road’s album Invasion. About $35. If Saint Vitus properly reissued their albums I’d buy them though since I want to support them.

I had a teacher who seen madonna live in 2001 and 2015 and I believe she ended up at one of the concerts 2 hours late. I’m not sure if it would be because of the traffic or what. I wish I could discuss more but I didn’t get to watch much of that concert 2 weekends ago or see too much of the crowd. I’ve forgotten about it.

The concert took forever to start I agree, I was losing interest before it actually started on the broadcast. I doubt this would be a final gig, don’t know who would be saying that. I’m pretty sure cher still tours so why wouldn’t madonna. She should release a new album though in this downtime. I’d be more interested in something new. I didn’t like her setlist this tour anyway and I’d be more inclined to go see her live if she’s playing new stuff rather than a bunch of singles.
Actions
-
Jorgerubine
Hmmm It's pretty much the opposite for me. I dislike her recent material so I hope she won't release new music unless it's something good and innovative. As for the setlist it was decent, I'd love to see her going off to Celebration Tour part II but this time she'd perform hit singles that weren't included in part I, although I know this is not gonna happen. I'm curious to know what she's gonna do now musically tho

I want to hear something experimental, something with a sonic landscape again. Or maybe an acoustic album. I would buy that. Madonna is past the point of needing to conform to modern musical trends to stay relevant. I really wish her musical output was more frequent and consistent but she’s always been more of a performer and less a songwriter although she can write great songs. Seeing it switch up like that would be nice.

I was wondering if anyone I follow on last fm was attending. I don’t know what time Saturday it starts but I’m going to try and watch it live. I probably would attend an event like that if I was able to. I don’t know how truly large it is but I’ve seen clips of Metallica’s gig in Moscow in 1991 and they played for over a million people at an airfield, wonder if it’s bordering on that scale.

I played some of final fantasy 7 on ps1 last year and I really liked what I played although I had to have a walkthrough. I eventually got to a crucial boss battle on the first disc and unfortunately I saved my game somewhere That I couldn’t backtrack from to buy more health potions and I couldn’t make it to the fight without my party all dying. So I basically had soft locked my game and I quit playing it. I played some of South Park: the stick of truth yesterday which is also an RPG but it’s much more straightforward and doesn’t have a ton of complex mechanics like materia and stuff like that. It’s also not one of those long haul games and is short for an RPG which is good for me.

yeah the south park games look fun. I have nothing against RPGs I just prefer more straightforward action games like Red Dead or Mafia. I've been looking into buying the older Max Payne, Far Cry or Just Cause games since they're backwards compatible but stretch money is hard to come by these days

I prefer action games a lot more as well but something slower and more story oriented I like also, like the resident evil series. I don’t really have a genre preference as in the past year I’ve played through platformers, shooters, RPGs, fighting games, racing games. I’ve played shooters the most though.

I can understand the stigma given its Chicago but it’s different here for various reasons. The politicians want it illegal, religion runs deep, a lot of people aren’t educated properly. I find it surprising how many people tolerate alcoholism but are a total narc when it comes to weed. I think next year we are getting medical marijuana legalized but I have no idea what that will mean. My delta 8 pen came from here in Kentucky so I have no idea what’s going on.

I think I played it first on those gaming emulators with a ton of games included. I remember feeling REALLY intrigued by the intro, with the guy dying on the chair lmao. though I probably played it for like, 10 minutes? then switched for another game. I saw it being mentioned in other game threads too before, probably the reason why I still have some memories of it.

The cutscenes were so bizarre. The ending of the game the antagonist tells the protagonist give it to me, hard. Then you see her shoot his head off and bits of his brain go flying towards the camera. This was a KA rated game on the front of the case. No idea how that happened. Overall I had a lot of fun with it but the controls sucked so much ass. It was choppy and you had to strafe using face buttons, not the shoulder buttons.

I might be wrong here, but did you mention that you were taking a break from listening to black metal or quitting the genre as a whole? Here recently I've decided to take a break so I can find other music that I probably missed out on before when I was listening to mostly black metal music.

I sadly think I’m mostly done with it. My musical roots were in more traditional rock and metal and I’ve rebounded back to them and there’s so much music I’m beginning to uncover that I overlooked, or didn’t listen to enough of when I was younger. There’s infinitely more heavy metal bands I enjoy hearing than black metal and it feels like I’ve found a perfect safe space for me where I feel empowered listening to music again and I’m also not pissed off by the fanbase. But I probably will continue to revisit black metal often since I still enjoy the atmospheric elements, and I’ll definitely be listening to the new Darkthrone album. Also been wanting to listen to more music from Vinterriket if I can remember, so there’s still appeal in it for me, but I think I’ve just largely moved on up the ladder. I’ll also be working full time in the fall so who knows if I can continue my relentless music listening habits. Better explore while I can if that changes.

to be honest you might be in the perfect sweet spot to appreciate a mix of both. A lot of Greek and Italian black metal takes strong heavy metal influence, so when/if you feel like getting back into it there's always Rotting Christ, Agatus, Mortuary Drape...etc

I feel it’s a trend that I enjoy the most experimental works of an artist. When it comes to metal artists or any for that matter, the favorite is usually the debut or the strange album of their discography. I really find it amazing that Invasion released before Iron Maiden’s debut and how similar they sound. Both sound really bass heavy.
