Hello! I'm glad to hear from you. I hope all has been well. It's good you've been discovering some new music. I know the pandemic and the world situation has been strange for several years now. I'm not sure what to recommend because I don't know what your favorite stuff us and what you prefer now. There's lots of different types of sounds within the genre.

Type O is such a unique band that it's hard to find comparable sounds. You might like the album "Draconian Times" by Paradise Lost because that has some elements. Nevermore's "Dreaming Neon Black" reminded me of Type O vocally, at least that track did. Ministry might interest if you're into Rob Zombie. I'm guessing you have White Zombie. Monster Magnet was kinda cool in that way. If you want something doomier but with an operatic feel, I'd say check out Candlemass.

definitely one of the most iconic songs which is us and them. i cried quite a lot during this song. and also comfortably numb. i actually thought i was going to cry the whole gig, but these were the only songs that made me drop some tears

Those songs are incredibly emotional and still carry so much pain. They're masterpieces. I can understand the tears. The're a tribute to the songwriting and the performances.

I used to use Spotify but I found it kind of limiting. It's not bad, though. The first Angel Witch album is fantastic. That's a classic. I also recommend a band called Diamond Head and if you can find an album called "Diamond NIghts," that combines the first record, 'Lightning to the Nations" and some early Eps together. It's fantastic. I think you would like them. Check out a band called Saxon, too. They are a classic British heavy metal band. The best albums they did were Wheels of Steel, Strong Arm of the Law, Denim and Leather and Power and The Glory.

It's always nice to hear from you, Ana. I like death metal with some bands ranking among my favorites. Cannibal Corpse always had weird vocals and I wasn't into the lyrics but I have to say, they have some good headbangers. I actually saw Napalm Death as an opener for the final Slayer tour last month. They were pretty wild. Testament, Anthrax and Lamb of God were there, too. I hope you can see some shows. Did you ever see that Roger Waters one? I hope you have been doing okay. You are always such a positive presence here!

I haven't check all of their albums and anything related to that so far, but i can say they are damn underrated and they also do have some kickass songs for such a death metal band. Really wish I could like, create a blog or something to talk about these bands, I love it. However, I haven't attended to Roger's gig yet. There's only 22 days left so I can get so see him. I'll give you some feedbacks as soon as I arrive there hahaha. I'd LOVE to see Cannibal Corpse and Napalm Death :\ such a shame ugh. And thank u so much!! You're always welcome around here :)

The classic death metal band is the band, Death. Beyond technical skill, they offered intelligent lyrics with a certain philosophy missing from other bands of it's type. I would love to see a blog on that! That sounds like a fun idea. I hope you love the show and yeah, you have to tell me about it! I wish I could go, too. I'm sure it'll be great. I hope you can see as many bands as you like. Thanks, by the way. :)

Hey, I try. That's a cool song. Seasons in the Abyss is one of their biggest songs but I'd say most popular is probably Angel of Death or Raining Blood. When I saw Slayer, Megadeth was also there and played Rust in Peace in it's entirety and that's another one I would recommend. It was a good show. You still have the chance to see good bands. You'll have memories of your own that I'm sure will be special. I hope you're doing well lately. It's always nice to hear from you.

They are both favorite bands of mine and certainly two of the ten greatest metal bands ever. However, comparing Judas Priest to Slayer is like night and day. Slayer are aggressive and brutal but not diverse. Judas Priest are like Black Sabbath and have a real diverse catalogue of music ranging from the progressive to the poppy to the thrashy. I really recommend the band's albums from the 1970s. They are among the greatest metal and hard rock albums of all time. I actually am seeing both this year! Priest is actually going to tour with Deep Purple! Pretty cool, huh?

In late summer, they start a North American tour with Priest and Purple as co-headliners! It's crazy. I have already seen Priest this year and I rarely see the same band twice in a single year but how can I turn this one down? Priest's new album is really good and they have been playing more classic tracks. The one that blew me away was Saints in Hell from the 1978 record, "Stained Class." That's one of my favorite songs. I think Purple will go on before Priest. I hope they play some of the heavy stuff. Last time I saw them, "Highway Star" opened the setlist. It ended with Hush, which was odd. I really hope you guys will get this show, too. It sounds fantastic.

He actually did and still does. But to be quite honest I found about all of these bands i listen to all by myself, but we do have conversations about classic rock bands and that's amazing. He had this dream of seeing PF live since he was a kid and now this is finally coming true, which makes me so happy as well. I grew up listening to Pink Floyd and a part of me belongs to them, you know? And yes, it's gonna be my first gig ever so it will be epic as hell. I'll give you some feedbacks of the concert as soon as I get the chance, yay! And YES it is phenomenal, he's been playing Pigs the whole tour, if i'm not mistaken and I love how the adds some themes on the screen usually criticizing politics and stuff, damn genius. Hopefully he will add some nice stuff during his visit in brazil!

That's really special to hear that. I know what you mean. This should be an unforgettable experience for you and your dad. This is your first concert? Wow! That's going to be so cool! You have to tell me about it, of course. The entire "Animals" album is political as they come. It's inspired a bit by the George Orwell novel, "Animal Farm." The Trump imagery must have been especially poignant for the Mexican audience considering all the dumb shit he said about them and their country. Waters and Floyd were always political and while that doesn't always age well, these songs do because unfortunately, we are still living them. I think you'll have a beautiful time at that show.

Cities On Flame sounds like Black Sabbath, doesn't it? Blue Oyster Cult was originally advertised by Warner Bros as the American Black Sabbath...clearly, they were a very different band. However, if you listen to the riff for Cities on Flame and Sabbath's The Wizard, they are similar. I always thought Blue Oyster Cult were underrated.

The Stormbringer album isn't great with Coverdale on vocals but you'll probably love the title track. It's awesome. If you like Deep Purple you should also listen to Rainbow. The first three albums feature Ritchie Blackmore, lead guitarist for Deep Purple and on vocals, Ronnie James Dio. Check out this album called "Rising," because I think you'll love it. You'll definitely love the cover! Also, if you like psychedelic and 60s rock, you might want to listen to the first few Purple albums. They are very different in sound but are kind of cool in their own way. The first album, Shades of Deep Purple, contain a number of covers including Hey Joe, which Jimi Hendrix made famous that same year and a few covers of Beatles songs that are WAY more depressing than the originals! I hope you find some good music you like. You always have amazing taste, though.

I knew you would love Deep Purple. You're a Black Sabbath fan. They share many things. Now, if you're just starting out, the most famous album they made was Machine Head. That one has so many big name classics including Smoke on the Water(most famous guitar riff of all time,) Highway Star and Space Truckin'. The most important album they made, and possibly heaviest, is In Rock from 1970. That album along with the first two Sabbath albums really started what we call "heavy metal." I could recommend most of the albums with Ian Gillan on vocals. He is one of rock's greatest singers. Just check out a song called "Child in Time," to get what I mean. He also made an album with Black Sabbath called "Born Again" in 1983. The next year he rejoined Deep Purple for one of the great reunion albums ever, Perfect Strangers. I would also recommend the first albun with David Coverdale on vocals, Burn. That's a great album, too. Coverdale was later the vocalist for Whitesnake, by the way.

I know Machine Head because is their famous work, and it's a real anthem. And btw, I love the british accent in the end of ''water'' hahahah really amazing though. Besides all of the vocalists they had, Ian is the overrated one, there's no way we can deny it, right? Child in Time is such a romantic tune, i love it. And yes, I've been listening to Burn and its all great!!! This band has literally no bad albums tbh. And i only figured out that Coverdale had done some albums with DP because of you. So i was listening to Whitesnake earlier, and i have to say that i'm still speechless. I could listen to them for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for always dropping new content around here, recommending me stuff cuz i love figuring out new sounds and you know it!

The story behind "Smoke on the Water" is pretty ridiculous. I guess it involves some guy shooting a flare gun(!) inside a concert venue and burning it down. Frank Zappa ended up housing Deep Purple after the incident and that's why you here him mentioned in the song. Just bizarre but it made for a great song. Ian Gillan is probably one of the most influential singers ever. So many of the operatic guys, especially Halford and Dickinson, took a lot from him. He was behind several of the band's all-time classics. Child in Time is an epic. It's got so emotion. Burn is awesome. Deep Purple were mainly pretty great. That's wonderful that I was able to get you into some new music! That makes me very happy to hear that! I love introducing people to music. I knew you would like bands like this. You seem to like that heavy blues sound with those crushing guitar riffs. You have great taste in music. You like all the good stuff. :)

And I did for the first time yesterday, and Melissa is a great so far from where I listened to it. Still have to check on them more often, but they are simply magnificent. Like, I watched a live of them and i swear to god i thought they were sort of black metal because of the make up, but they're not. * and even though if they were, i'd still listen to it lol*

Mercyful Fate are actually considered early black metal along with Venom, Bathory and Celtic Frost. I never knew how to categorize them, myself. They have a sound that is all their own. The guitar leads remind me of Judas Priest in the 1970s and those vocals are totally over the top with an octave possibly higher than even Rob Halford! Don't Break The Oath is ever better of an album and both are almost always on any list of the 100 greatest metal albums. Great stuff.
