ooh, thanks for the link. i did read in a few obits that he went to syracuse! i'm sure you knew but i don't think you mentioned it before. ha, all of the reviews on yelp mention something about a frat or sorority. such is life close to campus. are you still in the house you were in the last time we talked? i found that pic of lucky you sent me recently. so, you're not really using last.fm anymore either? i realized it made me weirdly anxious even though i'm sure no one was really looking at my profile. now i can listen to all the 2 chainz i want d: as for the song, if you never scrobble again it'll be cool to look at this list awhile from now and see where you were at (even the embarrassing things). it's me who should be apologizing to you for the slow correspondence. i worked all weekend and sort of spaced. do you like doctor who? i volunteered at a convention on saturday. left feeling fuzzy. also think i'm anemic, which is worrying.

aw, you're spot on with your choice of record. transformer is the only solo album i have readily available so i make do. yeah, you're right the media ran with the same angle but that's to be expected. i didn't read very many. i liked patti, john and laurie's (i feel like that's all you need, really). i've been meaning to check out mark e smith's. are you sill friends with rob on facebook? oh and, noting your last song, i went to this lecture today and it featured this panel of people active in the seattle hip-hop scene and one of them was none other than sir-mix-a-lot! they talked a bit about macklemore and the legitimacy of white hip-hop as a sub-genre becoming a culture.

also, i don't feel like there's been a full boyband resurgence. i think one direction got REALLY lucky and people are reading more into that than they should. there are other groups getting some attention, but they've got no real competition. they're a phenomenon onto themselves. n*sync were at least an exciting alternative, but all of these others just seem like piggybacking cash grabs (save for the wanted, who, i think, were active before).

i'm WAY excited about bowie's return! i like "where are we now?" i stayed up way too late that night and listened right before i fell asleep, so i had a moment with it. it's a little berlin, i think i read that he's going back to that chapter. he's been out of the public eye for awhile now, so i'm mostly happy he's healthy and still up for it. i'd love it if he toured.

ha, bsb were everything! i still haven't heard an n*sync song (that wasn't a massive single) because i swore allegiance. is the first album your fave? the last time i did a bsb re-listen i decided black & blue stood out but i don't know. and yeah, it's not super obvious or anything but i feel like the main riff runs through the whole song. how great are doug's facial expressions? it reminds me of the singer for the bangles saying that she had no idea where to look or what to do with her face during performances.

okay, so i don't know how long you'll be able to stomach it but you have to tell me whether or not this sounds like "(she's so) selfish" to you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDSjc7g5mGU

that's how i felt too, which doesn't vibe with the reviews it's getting..but, oh well. he's a brilliant guitarist, so you think it would translate into some interesting experimentation but it's just...flat, like you said.

i like it alright, but i haven't taken to it like some of his other stuff. i think the track i really like is called "seven naked valleys," i have to give it another spin. do you like it?

rockist? Derogatory epithet applied to folks (generally middle-aged white males) who adhere to the Old True Faith: that guitar-shredding long haired heroes (think Clapton, Page or Billy Crudup in "Almost Famous") are the true gods of music, and that the early 70's were a golden age for popular culture. Used in political arguments by those who seek to elevate the cultural impact of hip hop or mope-rock as viable alternatives, or even progress. Rockists venerate technique and craft over novelty and youth. Those turkeys at Rolling Stone are such old rockist fossils, they don't see that 50 Cent is a true artist and Tupac is more important than the Beatles

you should be, everyone should they're great. i even got graham into them. you might like their first album the best, then. it's got a lot of hooks and is their most straightforward, it's my favorite even if i really like the later ones as well. let me know if you need an upload. and mte, re: 'i want it that way.' it also encourages open discourse :p

C.Love is from Portland, Seattle dislikes her ( I live there ), many claim that she was final reason that Kurt blew his brains out, she took all the money, the Foo Fighters (remaining members of Nirvana) had to go court to get their royalties she was claiming were all hers while she was on a shoplifting spree with W. Ryder waxed on oxycotin. Does that answer your question?
