That'd be the lovely Gemila! They said they recognised you and gave you a little wave on the night. We had to sit because I wasn't feeling well, but I had a great view of Katie through the crowd. She really was wonderful, I think her voice is even better live than in recordings! She's magical. <3

Hi! Love the charts. I think you're facebook friends with a friend of mine, we were at the Melbourne Waxahatchee gig. How great was Katie?! <3

ellycopter October 2006 Your list is awesome, nice mix of everything in there. Can never go wrong with Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes and Buckley. Also nice to see some British representation on there (Kooks, Monkeys) - I'm not British myself, but I absolutely love British culture and music...and the amazing accents! =] write back if ya like.

Ooh cooL! Moving to better shores hey? Melbourne > Sydney? Your opinion? Work take you down there? Yeah europe was great. Such a blessing and an awesome opportunity to live in prague for a while. Glad to have just missed the crazy cold winter though! I'm sure our paths will cross sooner or later. :)

Hi Giselle! Sadly i have had to sell my soundwave ticket cos one of my best mates is getting married that day! Hope you have a good day there! And hopefully we can hang out some other time. (:

Haha. I think everyone has given up on Soundwave ever getting its act together. But harvest sounds great! Åustralia seems to have a lot of festivals. Some unnecessary ones too...lolllll. This Town Needs Guns is pretty cool. Sick name too. Flaming Lips are meant to be one of those bands you need to see before you die. I've only ever really listened to Yoshimi Battles... Never really got into Bright Eyes. But i'm keen to watch The National one day. My cousin and his mates roadtripped from malaysia to singapore for their show. We roadtripped last year for laneway singapore. That was gooooood fun. :) Sounds good!

Haha. Too good! And oh man. Tonight Alive's album is so freaking good. It blows me away! You know Jenna? I will swoon over her haha. I know the drummer's brother. he studied in wollongong and we went to church together for a bit. I saw them in wollongong. So good live. WOo. I'm totally going to soundwave by myself so we should definitely hang out then. I think our timetables will be very different though lol.

Wow you have a good memory! I have some vague recollection of saying that about soundwave haha. I'm only going to soundwave this year for SOAD and a little up and coming band called Letlive. I met them in Prague and they were nice, and their album is KCIKASS. so kickass i dont even need to spell it correctly. Hahaha. Me and my mates always swoon whenever we talk about jesse lacey. Yeah cool a drink or something sounds nice! :)

Yeah timing is always a bit awkward. Bon Iver is touring everywhere in europe right now except in Prague haha. You seem to get to interview a lot of cool artists with Drum? I saw coldplay on the viva la vida tour. So good! Lined up from 12pm with my sis. But i'm too keen for mylo xyloto. :) I have been going to a lot of metal and punk shows in prague. Discovered my new fave band Letlive through that. Where is the Drum based?

Oh cool! My dad is a lecturer in journalism so i have a little bit of the journo in my blood. :) Drum media hey? I checked out your buried buzz thing. Pretty cool! How long you been working there for? I do a bit of music journalism on the side for fasterlouder. and yeah the whole european vibe is so different to australia. at first i was like 'what is this even?' but now i'm quite into it. I've been to two castles outside of prague and they were legit. Then i am going to england for a weekend trip to visit my cousin tomorrow. I've been to europe before so not heaps important to go travelling around. But i plan germany and coldplay in dec. I actually build my itinerary based on what artist is playing where and when. :P

Excellent! Yeah the new album is something special. Can listen to it on repeat no problem at all. Just washes right through your soul. :) And your powers of deduction are correct. Just doing some phd research in prague for a few months. It's nice here. Lots of sweet music to check out. hehe. Hopefully can go for a bit of a eurotrip on the odd weekend here or there. Any recommendations? :) Did you catch the train around europe?

This will be my first time. :) Woooo. Wow you are into it! All three shows. I gave my presale info to a friend and she bought two shows and also some brisbane tickets. Bon iver generates such an intense following!

Based on your tastes I think you would enjoy this: Evoking the sounds of M83, Delorean, Cut Copy and Washed Out, Weekend Revolutionaries have delivered 'Movement', a record that touches on Balearic beat, chillwave and Euro-dance styles and conjures memories of all-night raves beneath endless sunsets. Yeah I still like Death Cab and (early) Coldplay when I hear it though, which is very rarely. The whole point of NEO//NOIR is showcasing really really new bands with, generally, less than 3000 listeners on Last.fm. So yeah you could say "obscure". It's not so much obtuse and challenging music though. Just stuff that people SHOULD be listening to. Basically in my mind if it's on Triple J then its ruined and overexposed haha. Lots of it is Lo-Fi Pop.

Hey Giselle of course I remember you. What's going on? Thanks for the kind words, I had a look through your blog and found the very cool Step-Panther through it. It's interesting to see how different our writing styles are.
