a christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, with some ambient rebellious dubstep and face melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia.

Listening to the national at 3am and then again at 6am. Is that supposed to assist with or prevent sleep?

Great taste and avatar. Some of my favorite all-time artists are in your charts.

So apparently in the last 7 days you have only listened to two different artists.

Re: At the Drive In similar bands: Drive Like Jehu, eponymous and "Yank Crime". Math rock band from San Diego. Both albums are ass kickingly awesome.

Hey, yeah, the Beth Gibbons/Rustin Man album is *very* good. I recommend listening to it as you're falling asleep or just as the sun is coming up. Seriously.

You mentioned Up also. I could listen to the last few tracks of this album many many times over. I am not sure that REM would fit in my living room. It might get weird.

Out of time is a totally underrated album. I once remember quite randomly that Tim Rogers of You Am I saying it was no good as there were no good songs on it. Well I always contested that. The second half of the album is genius. Bowie update: I will dedicate some more time to Scary Monsters; not to mention the super creeps. I think I may have mentioned before the strength of The Man Who Sold The World. For a dash of poetic folk magic (I say this in response to your contention that The National are similar to some elements of Leonard Cohen - which I would tend to disagree with), try Laura Marling (although I am not sure you actually ever listen to females?).

I see you are reviving the New Adventures in Hifi. It is rather good after all. Apparently The National are the new REM. Discuss. We are off the see Regina Spektor soon in Leeds. I heard that tickets for her Adelaide show were about $100. Well we paid about £25. Looks like people in Your Country are getting rather ripped off. You should get try her music. I am biased about anyone who sings/plays piano at the same time though.

Yeah that's true, i was more into hiphop when i was younger, but not so much now, there are still a few artists in that genre i will always like though. Just as you can tell my recent playing is much different compared to 2 years ago! Got into a lot more music since then...

Silent Alarm is probably one of the best albums I have still ever heard. I don't have a problem with bands aiming for commercial success. They have to make a living somehow. If i could make music as my job for my life and have a successful career, I would probably jump at that chance too. I think bands who say they are in it just for art or whatever is a completely naive thing to say.

Hey, thanks! YOU SIR. YOU HAVE SOME SOLID JAMS...your overall top 10 is brilliant (Dylan, National, Smashing Pumpkins, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Interpol, The Decemberists, Pixies)...shoot! Both those songs are too good, Vanderlyle is gorgeous and incredibly powerful. Can you recommend me some Bob Dylan perchance? All I have is his greatest hits record and would like a true album of his. Thanks!

I felt today, listening to Muse, it was like imagining I was in a San Dimas shopping mall watching Joan d'Arc leading Aerobics and listening to Beethoven play several keyboards simultaneously.

Tag all your band photos (when you get them) with lastfm:event=32909 where the number corresponds to the event as listed in here. The photos appear on the event page. Amazing!
