sorry for cluttering your shoutbox--not sure if you've ever listened to Choir of Young Believers. There is a stunning live performance they did of a beautiful song, Why Must It Always Be This Way--for KEXP. in case you want to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqnnGbDH3Ds

Not working in IT, as much as working with IT--I direct academic programs in the University of Pennsylvania's College of Liberal and Professional Studies, so was experiencing the IT disruptions on the user end--happened just as my faculty's grades were due! So, you've had snow days--what do you do? We had 2 feet of now a few weeks ago here, since then just an inch here and there. BTW, Avett Brothers and Low Anthem--fantastic lineup! You'll need to let me know how the show is if you go. :)

haven't listened to FFN, but will seek them out-trust your recs! love the other bands you mentioned--especially The Low Anthem. I got to see them live over the summer, and was really impressed. I think Charlie Darwin is easily in my top 5 albums from last year, and I am usually really terrible at making lists! Doing OK here--I work at a university, so just got back to work after winter break this week. Typical fun transition period--massive login glitches to central computer systems used to submit grades; dead mice in the admissions office; my admin assistant got a mohawk over break, and I had to determine the appropriate professional response; etc. how have you been? were your holidays good? :)

Seems we have similar concert experiences! I look at it this way-at least we get a lot of the musical references and influences that go right over the young hipsters' heads! There's quite a music scene in Philadelphia-I view the hipsters as necessary to bring the bands in. Re. DA & JLM-flu got in the way of my going to that concert. was quite sad about it-have seen The Black Keys and loved them-really wanted to see DA solo.... Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks for comments re. Avett Bros too--was wondering how new album stacked up against Emotionalism.

cool hope you enjoy. They've been one of my favorite bands for the past year, they keep stunning me every time I listen to them. everybodyfields, i'll have to check them out. They did a cover of Neil Young's 'The Campaigner' that was hosted on Paste's website for while, but its gone now. It was brilliant.

I think we have the exact same taste in music. In which case I would seriously recommend Frontier Ruckus

How do you like the new Avett Bro's? I got it last week, and it only hit me recently.
