#deepR&Balbumcuts
All too often whenever a discussion or celebration of the illustrious R&B of the 1990s and early 2000s occurs, only the hit songs that have been played ad nauseam are discussed. This playlist highlights the many gems that hid in plain sight on a full-length release's tracklist. While none of these 26 smooth-grooving joints--recorded by a wide array of acts ranging from modern icons (Mary J., R. Kelly, Mariah, Brandy, Keith Sweat, SWV) to underrated B-listers (Amerie, Bobby V., Monifah, Avant, Tamia) to long-forgotten names that never received the push that they truly deserved (Blu, Joya, Puff Johnson, Playa)--were ever released commercially, thus never received any significant airtime, they all still stand tall with the more (over) played selections of their era all the same. So, press play, nod your hand and wave your hand in the air like they used to do in all of the '90s videos. ;)

Legend of the Soulful White Man
Music has no color, yes indeed, but this mix is a tribute to all the genuinely soulful crooners of the Caucasoid persuasion, from an array of eras and genres. From well-known blue eyed belters to rock/pop icons who've frequently displayed their funky inner souls to modern underground talent, this mix honors all of those that have defied stereotypes of what soul looks like. Honorable mention to: Simply Red, James Blake, Citizen Cope, Paul Weller, Sam Smith, Gino Vanelli, Paul McCartney, Level 42, Damon Aaron, Rod Stewart, Tortured Soul, The Stepkids, Rare Earth, James Taylor (both New England's finest and the UK acid jazz maestro, alike), Remy Shand, Georg Levin No honorable mention to: Both Justins (Timberlake and Beiber), John Mayer, Jazon Mraz, Ed Sheeran Enjoy!
