I see you like The Cure a lot!! I'm carefully listening to their whole discography, in order, so I can know batter the band. Pornography is my fav album so far. My mom also gifted me a The Cure shirt from Uruguay's concert she went last year (she is a huge Cure fan since her teenage years)

That is a fantastic album! I tend to gravitate towards the work they made from 85-93 (with Dave M. Allen producing and Boris Williams on drums). In fact that lineup with Williams, Thompson, Gallup, and Smith is just perfect (with either O'Donnell or Bamonte on keyboards). Happy listening 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🖤🖤🖤

Hey thank you! Excellent taste yourself. Yes, I'm so happy that Nick McCabe has finally put some solo stuff out, especially the 40+ minute spectacle We Are Are We is exactly the kind of guitar exploration that I've wanted to hear from him for many years now. And yes, the early BRMC stuff holds up very well, and I agree that it's underrated, in that it's much more sophisticated, both musically and emotionally, than people give them credit for. I have loved them and the BJM for over a decade now (since high school), saw BJM in 2016, at this point I don't think I'll ever get tired of them. I'd say that both BJM and BRMC have a distinct shoegaze and drone component to their sound and that led me to Flying Saucer Attack, Windy & Carl, etc. Drone music has basically become an addiction for me over the past 4-5 years.

Man, I wish American Music Club got more respect. Everclear is one of the most gorgeous albums I've ever heard.

I forget which song it was, but I read and responded to an old shout of yours on a Ryan Adams song that I thought was quite insightful. Knew I had to give you a follow and a shout!

It's kinda strange, but we have very low compatibility for now. In anyway I endorse your charts through all these years that we followin' each other. ✌️

Awesome stats pal - it's great to see a library that isn't ravaged by remastered tags! 😂 Glad to see you're enjoying Stoned & Dethroned - it's my favourite JAMC album. Feel free to send recommendations my way, in the meantime are you familiar with The Seahorses' unreleased material?

Yeah, I always tag my library properly! 🤣 It's kind of an obsession of mine. I haven't yet, but I plan on listening to the second album sessions later.

Stoned and Dethroned is a masterpiece. So different for the Mary Chain and yet fits in with the rest of the catalog. I only wish that "Why'd You Want Me?" was written and recorded during those sessions. Would've made the record even better!

I'm glad you're familiar, it's dope! 😎 It seems to be ascending in popularity in a similar way to Pet Sounds during the 70s through to the 90s - though I doubt it will ever become as commercially viable

That's probably the most comprehensive Brian Wilson biography, Peter Ames Carlin is a great biographer! It's really expensive but if you can find 'Inside the Music of Brian Wilson' by Phillip Lambert (strictly music analysis) and also the inexpensive 'Heroes & Villains' by Steven Gaines (the dish the dirt biography) then you pretty much have a Brian Wilson holy triptych. Also worth a mention is The Nearest Faraway Place by Timothy White, a compendium realizing the zeitgeist of 1960s Southern California and the environmental and cultural influence to The Beach Boys

I commend you for comparing Selling England by the Pound and Loveless the way you did
