I can scrobble the music I have on my phone, but that's only a limited amount of music, and I've become bored with that. I've given up, and just haven't been scrobbling what I listen to through the spotify web player. I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed Like A Rose! You're right, it will be very hard to top. The Blade comes pretty damn close! Kacey Musgraves is coming to town next week, but I won't be going. :( I'm still waiting for Ashley to come to Seattle. Wouldn't it be funny if you get to see her before I do?!

I've been sick for the last week. I only woke to see this mess this morning.... yeah, I feel the same. I'm not sure if I'll stick with it either.... I'll wait and see. I was thinkin' bout ya, 'cause I bought this bright orange quilt cover & sheet set... that's Dutch football team orange! The king and queen of The Netherlands would be proud. haha Maybe just wait and see what gives.... at least leave your profile dormant until the final product is finished.

Ahhh, I totally forgot I replied to you. I LOVE THE BLADE! I think I still prefer Like A Rose more, mostly because it's so traditionally country and short and sweet! I'm really impressed with Ashley's vocals on The Blade though. She did mention that she thinks she's incapable of writing a happy song, and I very much like this. I find Pageant Material more disappointing that enjoyable, but love "Dime Store Cowgirl" and "Late to the Party."

Thanks mate. Emmylou is, by far, my favourite singer. I remember once that some critic said she was the only singer whose name told you exactly what her voice sounded like. I saw here in concert a few times when I lived in the USA.

Wow, so much german. (haha. that's the only phrase I know.) Ich liebe Wes Montgomery, er macht schöne Musik, especially Willow Weep For Me. Grieg mag ich auch, ich habe In The Hall of the Mountain King an den Tuba versuchen lernen. Spielst du jeder Instruments? Du magst vielleicht David Bowie, King Crimson, maybe? Ich kenne nicht many of the artists you listed so I will try as many as I can. I am not sure what you meant by your comment about die Sommerferien, but ich treffe jetzt Familie in Shanghai und woll züruck nach Amerika gehen in August.

It seems the most simple and obvious question, but it's taken me quite some time to look through my music collection to find out what current Australian artists I listen to, because I don't listen to many local artists. Australian music seemed to go through it's halcyon days during the 80's & 90's when bands like [artist]AC/DC[/artist] and [artist]INXS[/artist] were around. They still get played on the radio, but over the last 10 yrs, good bands have put out one good album and then disappeared :((. Sometimes, the artists move OS and set up base in the UK or US and get known there. Anyway, i've thrown together a small list of some Aussie bands... no guarantees you'll like 'em. So try any of these bunch... [artist]Midnight Juggernauts[/artist], [artist]The Temper Trap[/artist], [artist]The John Butler Trio[/artist], [artist]Boy & Bear[/artist] and lastly a very popular one on Last.fm, [artist]Tame Impala[/artist]. I hope you find something in that medley that appeals.

It's really interesting to hear you love sailing 'cause I'm also a sailor. Do you sail on the North Sea or on inland lakes? What kind of boat do you going sailing in? I went sailing once with my uncle on his little skiff in Northern Germany and it rained all day!! I've never been so cold in all^^ my life!! My hands went numb... I could barely undo the zip in my pants to do you know what!! LOL When I've been sailing around Sydney, I've been lucky enough to see whales out in the ocean and had a pod of dolphins swim alongside our boat a couple of times... a magical experience. They're such happy and playful creatures ♡ :))

Glad to see you lost your Tilley hat... metaphorically (:'> it's probably not the best avi pic for last.fm... it seems to make everyone look old ^^. haha You know, even though we have lots of problems with skin cancer in our sunburnt country, not many folk really wear hats either, especially Tilleys, and especially NOT teenagers. ;) But as a present, [url=http://www.beachsafe.org.au/surf-ed/the-lifeguards]here's a red Tilley for ya[/url]. You know who else wears Tilleys down here, the Australian Cricket Team when they're in the field... I know you play some cricket in the Netherlands, so you probably understand what I'm talking about. Their Tilleys are white! You'd fit in well in our country... during summer ;) Perhaps, I should buy myself an orange Tilley to match the rest of my outfit? haha Do you think I'd fit in with all you Dutchies dressed in Orange? Or isn't it bright enough? haha I met an expat Dutch girl here last summer... maybe, she doesn't like guys who dress in orange. :(

With regards to Chopin and Liszt I recommend Arnold Bax, Charles Villers Stanford, Louis Spohr, Julius Reubke (if you like Liszt's amazing sonata in B minor try his; it's very similar), Anton Rubinstein (virtuosic and beautiful, very underrated), Sigismond Thalberg (incredible and a friend of Chopin and Liszt). Also try Alkan (some works are more technical than musical but he has many nice works as well). Percy Sherwood and Tellefsen are also good. Sorry for flooding your shoutbox! You should be able to find plenty that you enjoy.

Alexander Scriabin's early works. Anything up to his 5th sonata. I posted a big list on d3idr3's profile which you can see in the shoutbox on my page. Sergei Bortkiewicz is similar to Rachmaninov and has a very nostalgic feel to his works. If you enjoy him you might also like Lyapunov's etudes, Myaskovsky's sonatas and symphonies, Lyadov, Heino Eller, Szymanowski, Medtner (a close friend of Rach) and Blumenfeld. Also if you like the tranquil style of Vaughan Willaims you might enjoy Holst (planets), Sibelius, Ravel (try his pavane pour un infante defunte, gaspard de la nuit) and Debussy (try prelude a lapresmidi dun faune, suite bergamasque). If you like that try Frank Bridge's earlier stuff, William Baines, Tailleferre and Poulenc.

Leider. Kostproben: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVowYmC_ZLY (auch schon 35 Jahre her....), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaPOya_8T88 , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18w0p1dyvFE , Gitarre spielen ist gut. Kannst Du auch auf dieser hier spielen??? LOL... :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tm3xgvcB_0 !!! Einfach unglaublich.

The Who !!! Gruß aus Hannover, Michael ,

I discovered a bit more Dutchie music... [artist]miss montreal[/artist] & [artist]ilse delange[/artist]. They both have quite a bit of a country flavour... is that country sound popular in the Netherlands? You have quite a bit of it in your collection... how did you get started? Anyway, have a nice weekend... it's so cold here, it's hard to type haha.

It's funny 'bout your hat... I was doing quite a bit of hiking last summer and thought I gotta go and buy a proper hat. Hats like yours are popular here... amongst the lifeguards!! haha Yeah, they wear the same broad-brimmed style as yours... only, they're coloured yellow and red to match their uniforms. Now, how you'd like to wear a hat like that? ;)) Perhaps being Dutch, you should have an all orange one... ;))

Sorree it's been awhile... I gotta lotta stuff going on. You know the Syndey Opera House was never really finished according to the architect's (he was Danish... close, but not quite) vision. Inside it's not as nice as what it appears from the outside and acoustically it's not that great. You know, the two greatest live classical performances to see are Carmina Burana and Beethoven's 9th Symphony... I recommend them even if someone isn't really interested in classical music. They are stunning live performances... so if they ever are happening anywhere near you... just GO!! They don't always come around often...

Blackbirds is AWESOME! It reminds me of 80s Stevie Knicks. I hadn't listened to Gretchen Peters before this album, but I am definitely interested in listening to some of her other projects. Are you fan? Any albums you recommend? If you're enjoying Blackbirds, I recommend James McMurtry's Complicated Game and Lee Ann Womack's The Way I'm Livin'.

Recommendations, hmm... Well, I just stumbled on some contemporary acoustic piano music just last weekend by a guy called [artist]brian crain[/artist]. I'm loving his album [album artist=brian crain]piano and light[/album]... it ain't elevator music (:'>. I noticed you liked some Americana stuff... well, try the album [album artist=ponderosa]pool party[/album] by [artist]ponderosa[/artist]. That was one of my brilliant blind finds, a completely random download :)). Finally, you may wanna check out the best non-pop, pop singer around [artist]Phildel[/artist] and her one and only album so far, [album artist=phildel]the disappearance of the girl[/album]. I love finding fantastic obscure artists, so I'm more than happy for you to throw *anything* at me. Oh yeah, I do listen to Dutchie music too :))

With all this global cooling going on (; the weather in Sydney, has been crazy for the last few years... we used to have hot summers... not anymore :((. It's pretty cold now (16-22C)... well, by local standards... haha. Is that what it's like in the Netherlands now? Sydney, is great during the warmer months... lots of things to do outdoors, but there's not as much to do here during the winter months. You look like you're enjoying yourself in the garden? What were you doing in your avi pic?

Your friendship is warmly accepted. It's pretty unusual to find people with really diverse musical taste here on Last.fm. I do love a lot of classical music too, I just haven't gotten around to ripping all of the 50 or so CDs I own :((. If I did classical music would show up bigger on my tag cloud. I try and go to the Sydney Opera House to see live performances at least once a year. How about you? Where's the biggest cultural centre near you?

Yes, I love going to country concerts. I live in Michigan. Not the biggest area for country music but pretty big. I have seen Brad Paisley 4 times, Brooks & Dunn, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith and others. As for hip hop, my favorites are Kendrick Lamar, T.I., Eminem (from Detroit Michigan!), J. Cole, Drake, Schoolboy Q. In Electronic music Skrillex is what kicked me off recently. I also like The Prodigy who just released a new album. Daft Punk is excellent also. Enjoy the music!

I love your bio and your open attitude toward music. I admittedly buy a lot of popular stuff, but I never listen to radio at all. I pick the songs I like and use smart playlists in iTunes for my listening. Country comprises 50% of my collection, though in the last year I have listened to a lot of hip hop and more electronic music.

That's really cool! I'm more of a classical-guitar player as well, although I'm not very fond of the classical repertoire: I'm more into popular music (like tango and folklore). But there are some classical pieces with a notorious influence of popular music that I really like (like Lauro's work! As a matter of fact I'm currently struggling with his Vals Venezolano nº 2 :P ). These are some examples of tango and folklore, respectively, for soloist guitar that I'm looking forward to play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNtl4nxGx54 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QU9MTCmEm4 . Regarding living in Argentina... well, that deserves a whole new chapter, haha. But yeah: overall, I'm glad to have Spanish as my native language since I'm able to enjoy its vast and rich literature (which includes songs' lyrics ^_^ ) and, mostly, I'm glad to be immersed in this culture, which allowed me to get to know all this music that I probably wouldn't have heard if I was born elsewhere :)

It depends on what genres of music you like. I see that your favourite genres are classical, country, pop and rock. For classical (all of them are dead): Dmitri Shostakovich, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovskiy, Sergey Prokofiev, Aleksandr Skrjabin and Modest Musorgski.
