wow i really liked kills birds, it sounded like 90s grunge but with female vocals, quite unique! from the same style i could suggest Fit For Rivals, Skating Polly or Death Valley Girls. but i've been listening to so much different stuff lately, trying to discover new things. some new post-hardcore bands have caught my attention for a while though; As Everything Unfolds, Holding Absence and Dream State.

hey thanks for skating polly suggestion love it! its reminding me of Cay and Queenadrenna. do you remember those bands? lol. also loving death valley girls it reminds me of The Black Belles. that jack white record label project. loved it they dressed like witches. yeah I'm alway trying to get out of my listening comfort zone. FUCK! loving As everything unfurled too! thanks for all these suggestions they are all great!!!

Congrats on reaching already the ">7400 artists played" milestone :-) ... I discovered you in the "Discovery Leaderboard" section (May 22-28), you are at #1 place there (I am in the Scrobble LB): last DOT fm/user/reiter25/listening-report/week ... How is it going on your side of the Earth ? I assume you too stay at home more recently in these Corona virus times, same as us here in good old Germany... Stay safe and go on with enjoying music loudly.

Did they let you not fly out from Asia because of the lockdowns? :-( Well, we stay at home mostly, better safe than sorry. From our near environment, thankfully no one caught the virus either. But one can never know for sure. We all are waiting for a vaccine which seems to come next year only :-( ... Meanwhile let us distract more with our hobbies e.g. like music... What will you be playing music-wise for today? I am listening currently some classical music, and later my "Release Radar" playlist on spotify

You mean Sonic Youth, right? Will put H.grimace also on my listen list for later, thanks. Hope you have enough distraction and music for the lockdown planned :-) Wish you a great music Friday...

Hey lovin' the latest Soccer Mommy album. What you think of it? Was hoping to catch her in Gorilla next month but who knows if it's still happening now because of COVID :/ See you're also big into the Apple (Fiona that is), can't believe I've only just got into her! She's great :)

yeah it's been weird not being able to go to gigs :/ I got to see DIIV at the Academy in February just before the lockdown but seems so long ago now. Was a great show though! listened to Fiona Apple's entire back catalogue now - love it all! I find it weird how I've just bypassed her for so many years when PJ Harvey, Cat Power etc. are amongst my favourite artists. Have you got any new 2020 music to recommend? As I get older I feel I'm getting more detached from new stuff coming out haha

no problem. well my thoughts at first about the black album was god! what is this? its so bland! the lyrics are so cheezy! ugh yuck get it away from me. but I can't stop listening to it, like a really bad B movie you love. I really can't believe they have been working on this album for three years? really feels like when the white stripes threw an album together in 2 weeks. I changed my mind a bit when I looked at the music video High as a kite. It reminded me of don't hug me im scared. so I thought oh, ok its trying to be a bit scary also cheesy. overall would love if they had just stuck to something because the album feels a bit allover the place, wish they put in some more distortion. I just want them to make an album like pinkerton, but that never going to happen lol. how about you how are you finding it?

I’m enjoying it as an album, I totally get what you mean about the cheesey lyrics, I don’t think I’d enjoy it if it wasn’t weezer, it just has a certain charm to it. I hadn’t thought about the don’t hug me im scared similarity but that’s actually dead accurate, good call! I do find it a bit odd they’re going back this way but I’m always excited to see where they go next

hey yeah really looking forward to it glad i bought the tickets as it sold out so quickly ahh. oh wow maybe i should go to the oya festival the line up is insane this year. I was thinking of going just because Chelsea Wolfe is going to be there. but Fever Ray Moses sumney, Patti Smith and Arcade Fire! what about you? do you have a favorite gig your looking forward to this year?

Yeah, Fever Ray's the one I'm looking forward to most atm! Can't wait to see what she's cooked up for the show. Øya is looking tempting indeed, there's a festival here in Helsinki that same week called Flow and there's usually some overlap of artists between the two and a third one in Sweden, Patti is also playing Flow and so is St. Vincent, they also confirmed that they're trying to book Fever Ray as well, really hoping they pull it off as well as Arcade Fire. I take you're from the UK, have you traveled much? I've heard great things about Øya, you should definitely go if possible!

Yeah i had friend say that when they went to see the knife it was spectacular show. so cant wait 😍 Oh cool yeah just looked up Flow looks really cool Ive never been to Helsinki maybe that one would be good. yeah I'm from the UK yeah traveled quite a bit seem that what i send all my money on lol. yeah i went to the Øya festival quite a few years ago now when Sonic Youth were headlining. it was amazing!! enjoy going to European festivals a lot more. How about you are you from Finland?

Ahhh I wish I'd seen The Knife too, must've been awesome! Yeah I love traveling too and done it quite a bit as well, never been to Norway though so you've got me beat there! Spending your money on traveling and music is the ideal tbh, can't blame you. Yeah I'm from Finland, live in Helsinki, mainly mentioned Flow because I go to that one every year and this year all these Nordic festivals are looking mighty fine already!

I agree! I wasn't completely sold on it at first but after a couple of spins I fell in love with it and there are actually a lot more similarities between Plunge and the self-titled than I initially thought. Interesting library, look forward to stalking it in hopes of finding something new for my own, followed back!

yeah i completely agree with you the first time i listened to it I thought oh this was not what i was expecting and I didn't think it was very good. I watch the review by neddledrop and i thought yeah that probably the right score. but I kept wanting to listen to it and now I love it. really love the song red trails sounds like it should be straight of the older album

Oh yeah, Red Trails is definitely a highlight for me too! Mustn't Hurry and Mama's Hand are also unmistakably Fever Ray imo. There are a couple of songs on it too that I'm not too keen on, but I wish people would give the album a chance to grow on them instead of immediately declaring it a failure if it doesn't click on the first spin!

I wholeheartedly agree. I never really paid too much attention to Bjork, but that album dropped, and it's made me go back and obsessively listen to all of it.
