I try my best (We are wearing masks and gloves when going into crowds. People look strange, but I think: strangers won't help me if I'd get infected. Better safe than sorry.) Have a relaxing, musical Monday...

thank you for popping by. I'd consider my musical taste already fairly mature some 40+ years' ago when I was in college. That was when I would pick up a guitar and play CSNY's Teach Your Children or Young's Heart of Gold. Pop in the 80s were not very good so that's when I started listening classical music. It took me another 10 - 20 years before my children introduced me to rap and metal. I always thought that they sounded quite "uncivilized" before but now I would say they are not bad at all.

Wow, that's a long time of music listening, as well as making... I just also looked at your weekly report (A) and see you are still discovering new music (I somehow may have assumed one would fall back to known music mostly after such long time) ... Nice! ... For me: I had a few phases, every 2 or 3 years: then I am switching completely the music genres I listen to daily, rarely I listen to the old genres then... except the last few weeks: I am listening to the loved tracks on spotify (I noticed, that I didn't mark those as "loved" on lastfm :-() ... Thank you! The black and white Soul rockers "Sly and the Family Stone" were in the 70s with their songs subversive. „Do your own thing" - maybe was your first LP not a mistake? If you getting older it could be a problem, that constantly someone new comes up, but all the old ones go on. Either you have your self limited to all memory albums by Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and their epigones and look now stumped down on the dance floor. Or you accept that now is different and that different is important. Then it might be a discovery, a story of tangled paths that can lead you from Robert Johnson to Tricky, from T. Rex to XTC, from, This Heat to Subtle Tease, et cetera, et cetera...

Kim Kardashian makes millions with a shallow mobile game - but she is far from a figure that defines the rock- and pop music. For me, It started in 1956 with Elvis. That was only white R & B with hip shaking. Between 1965 and 1969 were the Beatles and Rolling Stones really good (and there were the Kinks, Animals and Who). From "Highway 61" came Bob Dylan with new lyrics and sound. Ecstasy instead exegesis. Jimi Hendrix was one of them. Velvet Underground, Lou Reed and David Bowie transformed the rock into an art form. Important to me are people like Kevin Ayers, John Fahey or Jorma Kaukonen. Everyone is responsible for his own life, the love and the music to that.
