read their tweet about it a few days ago. sad news, but they'll both continue in making music. I'll keep an eye out for them both.

I still haven't gotten over missing Austra and the xx, but I saw Beach House play their first show here in AGES in April, Lower Dens and Yo La Tengo opening--amazing! Purity Ring was also great (albeit flu-ridden). Been checking out your recs, awesome stuff, loving Tu Fawning (hiatus!? Meh) and Nightmare Fortress so far.

B-more is getting there, there's a lot happening in that Beach House/Wye Oak dreamy sort of vein (Jenn Wasner's side project Flock of Dimes is pretty good) and avant-garde stuff out of Wham City (Dan Deacon, Double Dagger). Lots of jammy/Southern-tinged stuff of varying quality - J. Roddy Walston and the Business isn't bad. Plus we still claim Animal Collective even though they left us a few years ago. There's always amazing stuff coming from out your way, though--anyone besides Lemolo who's a must-hear?

LEMOLO! Thanks for reminding me, I think I added them from your library and then forgot to come back and check them out. Gorgeous voice. In a similar vein, you would probably like Forks of Ivy: http://www.last.fm/music/Forks+of+Ivy/_/Iowa --and while I'm mentioning hometown bands: Lower Dens.

No, I haven't. It's too much out of my musical comfort zone ;) Although I have been getting into different electro genres like ambient, glitch, a little house and wouldn't mind going! 'Big' festivals like Lowlands, Sziget or Eurosonic are closer to my heart, or a smaller but unique Into The Great Wide Open (lots of genres, on an island in the middle of nature, chill vibe). What's your favorite festival?
