Three musical recommendations for you... All time classic: Dexys Midnight Runners - Searching For The Young Soul Rebels / Fun new(ish) release - indie punk pop straight outta Essex: Bilk - Bilk / Another 2023 release that came out in January and which I’m still enjoying: Hifi Sean & David McAlmont - Happy Ending / And you remembered to check out Róisín Murphy's Hit Parade?

Hey Nigey, thanks for the follow and great taste! We are both compatible in Welsh parody rap… what do you make of your recent Goldie Lookin Chain scrobbles?

Wrong diction: German media definitely sent him (back) to Coventry. ...Only exception: German most distinguished internet radio (and on air radio in Hamburg). 3 different radio DJs there made a complete 60- or even 120min program for him. ...Hamburg is well known for being the most British town in Germany

ps. St. Pauli had become a hipster club, too (Even some years earlier as Union, at the end of the 90s). Hertha BSC fans mocked St.Pauli fans with a banner "From Cpt. Hook to hipster club" some years ago in the stadion ;). The last time I was at "Millerntor" was somewhen around 2006 (because of my girlfriend who wanted to...)

Can only agree with you. Have already cycled 3k kms this year. My nickname was from the days of making mix-tapes for mates. Had more to do with cornering speeds, and fitted best with my initials.

Full on late 1960s, here. Saw a documentary by Jakob Dylan (Bob's grandson) called "Echo in the Canyon" about the music scene in Laurel Canyon (Los Angeles) from 1965 - 1969. That was particularly cool for me, since used to live in Runyon Canyon, which is only one canyon over from Laurel :-) Followed that up with a movie called "Model Shop" and it really got me in an LA mood.... :-) What's up on that side of the pond?

Actually, the last week and a half have been sheer hell. My uncle passed away after a massive heart attack & stroke, and then BOTH of my cats ended up in emergency - Romeo ate a poisonous plant, and Nordie had kidney issues, among other things. For dessert, I got to add my entire life to Quickbooks Online, including 10 years of business data, all my clients, all my projects, every single bank account transaction since the dawn of time, etc. It's been a real blast (not). But by contrast, next week looks marvelous...... (PS: Both kitties are fine, thankfully). I've been listening to a hell of a lot of music to cope..... :-)

Thanks so much - and the same to you. I've been playing a different Bowie album every couple of days in an attempt to come up with a definitive personal top 50 of his songs (I know I know). Really interesting to reappraise the latter albums which I paid less heed to, especially those from the late 80s and 90s, which contain a few nuggets

Merry Christmas, @nigeyb, love to see all that Prefab Sprout! My favorite tune of theirs is "Donna Summer - demo". Ever heard it? Wishing you a wonderful 2019, Jen.
