Similarities include St. Vincent, Joanna Newsom, OPN, Jim O'Rourke and Brian Eno, cool.

Yeah, it definitely helped me gain a new perspective on their albums. I also find it remarkable that WTAM is largely just compiled from influences because the lyrics speak to me on a deep level and evoke a certain nostalgia in me. Aw, that sounds amazing! I need to see them live soon. Has your opinion of LOSE changed at all?

That interview made me tear up a bit. It's nice to have that insight on LOSE now. Thank you again. :)

Thanks for sharing that interview! It's very interesting. :) To be honest, I really need to revisit the album because it's been a few weeks since I last heard it, but I definitely loved it and need to spend more time with it (especially with the lyrics). I agree about Lenses Alien. It's weird because I liked it somewhat at first and suspected it was a grower, but I didn't give it the time it deserves. I think the lyrical content on it is super confusing and like "word-soup" as you said very accurately, but it makes it more mysterious and lately I've been wanting to dive deeper into it. LOSE feels much more immediate and has a few changes in sound on it, which is refreshing and is a good development for CEG. "Jackson" and "Chambers" are standout tracks for me so far, but I'm sure I'll have more in due time.

I've listened to it a couple times, and I can already tell it's going to be pretty high on my end of the year list. I think it definitely has stronger hooks than Lenses Alien, and there is something easier to digest with it. Lenses Alien took forever to grow on me; I'm just now starting to appreciate it more. I've been carefully reading the lyrics for both Why There Are Mountains and Lenses Alien, and I can't seem to grasp most of the meaning behind the songs. I feel like the songwriting is beautiful, but really tough to interpret or conceptualize. Would you agree with that? What are your favorite tracks from LOSE so far?

Heyyy, I haven't been to that group page in forever. I miss it. And thanks, you must have awesome taste in music if you like The Knife and Milo (and CEG, of course). Have you heard any tracks from the new CEG album yet? If so, what do you think?

Good idea! Yeah, I'm for sure going. I only ended up applying to, like, 3 colleges, and Bard was my top choice.

I've quite liked what I've heard from Wild Flag. I haven't listened to their whole album yet, but I really like their sound.

I see that you listen to a lot of Sleater-Kinney. I just recently heard about Wild Flag and how Carrie Brownstein is in a comedy sketch show with Fred Armisen called Portlandia that looks really good. I keep wanting to watch it, but I don't have the channel it's on, so I'll have to look it up online at some point. Anyways, I felt like telling you that lol.

I totally agree with you. There are a few standout tracks to me, but the album as a whole doesn't seem too impressive to me yet. I'm sure I'll grow to love it over time (like you said, since it's Cymbals Eat Guitars I'll probably give it like 50 more chances haha), but I don't think I'll ever love it more than Why There Are Mountains.

Me too! I've listened to it on YouTube, but I had to refrain myself from downloading it so I can actually get the CD.

Also, apparently you're bffls with Ruby Shumaker and Lindsay Parks. I was hanging out with them the other day and I was asking Ruby how the battle of the bands was and she mentioned you, and I was like oh I know who you're talking about and they were like HOW DO YOU KNOW HIM? lol. I'm not sure if this is as funny as I thought it was, but I felt like sharing.

I LOVE LIZ PHAIR. I have a hard time picking my favorite artist, but she's definitely up there. I just love her song writing ,and her voice is so pretty.
