yo, alright. yeah, done quite a lot of work on it, and it's tying into strategy discussions... no timescale as of yet, but it's growing into quite a monster; critical/theoretical account of pretty much all 20th century workers movement, mainstream and revolutionary plus loads of other stuff. will see what it comes out like, then decide what to do with it.

Alright Jim, thanks for that mix. Had a fairly quiet time in Manc visiting my aunt and embarking on a walk which took me to the McVities factory. Hope to see you sometime again soon, have a good new year and all.

Nice tunes on that playlist. I noticed you've discovered that Open Strings compilation. I've also been enjoying that one. My favourites after a couple of listens are Subway, Dirty Projectors, Alva Noto, and APC. I recently found a site for uploading tracks that is a lot better than Myspace called Sound Cloud. I've put some of my own tunes on there http://soundcloud.com/aby if you're interested.

Alright Jim! How's it going? You working yet? I'm trying to look for jobs now, it's not fun at all, can really see what you meant. By any chance, are these jokers the ones you were showing us from your school when we were living on Arthur Street - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKtUXVL-43Y&feature=player_embedded? Bolton's finest. Hope all's well, oh yeah, and Robin made a BTJ spotify playlist you might be interested in listening/adding to... Don't worry about the holiday. I don't think it's going to happen now judging by the lack of interest. I'm doing another school placement in September so I won't finish the course til after Xmas. I'm not going to start job-hunting til next year. What about you? Have you had any luck finding a job? You got any more Spotify compilations on the go? I've nearly finished one which I'll send your way in the next few days.

Downloading the Fall Of Efrafa album right now. As for the holiday, I'd sort of given up on the idea as I didn't get any replies to the last email I sent out about it. I'll try again though as I'd still really like to go somewhere, so check your inbox. Lake District would be fine by me.

Ta for that. I liked the Parts and Labour. I'd not heard them before. I need to check out more FSA as well. They're one of those bands I'd always overlooked. I've been working on a compilation as well. I originally wanted to make it themed, but most of the stuff I wanted to put on it wasn't on Spotify, so it's just turned into a collection of stuff I've been enjoying lately. http://open.spotify.com/user/bobyesterday/playlist/0MQvx7EgcXYDs3vmMwGV3P

I'm just bobyesterday. Can you have friends on it then? I haven't worked out how to do that yet. Also you can save playlists as a URL apparently, thus enabling you to send links of compilations that you've made to people, but I also haven't tried this yet. Someone has made playlists of the Peel Sessions between 1976-200 though http://indiefy.wordpress.com/2009/04/25/festive-50-lists-between-1976-and-2000/ Did you get my last email? We need to sort out a destination and date for this potential holiday. Somewhere in England or Wales should be fine, as Hugh also can't go to Scotland.

Yo, you heard of a program called Spotify? http://www.spotify.com/en/ It's kind of a p2p music streaming service, but it's like having a library of milions of tracks on your computer without actually downloading them as mp3s. The sound quality is really good, and you can enable it to scrobble into last.fm as well. The only downside is the adverts but I would still heartily recommend it. Also, did you get my email about the holiday? At the moment there's only me and Tom who want to go, so let me know if you're up for it. Also check this website out http://b3ta.com/ The challenges are the best bit. They're a bit like ytmnds but less in-jokey.

Alright. I quit my school in the end. I'm still on the course though, just doing the academic part of it. The uni will probably let me do another school placement if I want to, which I haven't decided on yet. For the moment though I'm being paid just for doing a couple of essays, which is pretty safe. I'm just enjoying not being too busy at the moment. Have you been up to much lately? We need to arrange another meet. Going to the South has been suggested. What do you reckon to that? I don't mind myself.

Hi. I'm ok ta. I'm pretty close to leaving my course though. I've had an outrageous amount of work since I last saw you so I've haven't had chance to sort out the internet label. I did listen to your CD last weekend though and really enjoyed it. The Yellow Swans was a particular highlight. I'll have to check them out when I've got a minute. I've mostly been listening to shoegazy glitchy electronica stuff. Shuttle 358 is really good. I'd also recommend Loscil and Lithops. You ok? Is much happening your end?

Try and find Colorloss Record by Belong if you can. It's a bit different to October Language (it has vocals), but better I think. You were telling me about an internet label where I should send my stuff. Does that ring a bell?

Why thank you. William Basinski is the guy I was going on about. Also check out Belong, who I just discovered tonight. What was the name of that label you told me about the other day?
