Hauntingly beautiful, isn't it? I'm really glad you like them. For me they evoke the same kind of feeling that transcends music the way only Tool can. I'll definitely check out The Hirsch Effekt if you recommend them. I could use more new music to listen to on my train rides :) By the way, I'll already congratulate you on our Champions League title. We can't beat Bayern in a year-long season anymore, so we'll do it with style in the CL then ;)

Yeah, GY!BE is one of my very favourite bands. They make athmospheric music that take you on a trip the way a good film can. I often listen to it on the train to college, always makes for an extremely nice hour and a half :) It's not as accessible as Mogwai though, you'll either love it or find it boring. Here's one of their songs I really love, the Dead Flag Blues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVekJTmtwqM You can imagine how great this sounds listening to it on the train.

Whoa Dede, it's like I'm looking at my own playlist. Incredible how you also listen to bands like Tool and QOTSA but are also into post-rock like I am. You even have some film music in there (Clint Mansell and Hans Zimmer) I love too. Uncanny. By the way: I often watch games of Dortmund with the commentary on a low volume and either Mogwai or Godspeed You! Black Emperor loud as the score for an epic game ;) You should try that!
