Hey vacantlips! I saw that you have a pretty good music taste and thought that you'd maybe like our music as well. We are three girls from the forests of Sweden and we are going to record our very first album in Woodstock this summer! We would love if you checked out this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmTj6CzmAp4 ! Let us know what you think (it's much appreciated) by commenting the video, and also check out our cover of 'Kathy's Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kjqZUC5PU that we got the chance to play live for Paul Simon! Love, VIDAR

Haha I often scour through tons of albums for the couple of songs that "catch me" right away. And I listen the shit out of them. And in between I'll start listening to the rest of the album starting to love it too (if the rest isn't boring). I pay attention to more melodical songs, I guess. I do listen to albums as ALBUMS rather than just one or two songs, but that only happens if the album is really good. If a song doesn't stick with me, I move on. Which is why so often I end up going back a year to albums I dismissed too soon.

Other than Tramp my favoritest 2012 album so far is Pepe Deluxe's Queen of the Wave. It's mad crazy genre-hopping, campy retro rock from a Scandinavian band that I'd never heard before this year, but it is an AMAZING piece of work. Too much fun and too much going on to appreciate in less than 5 listens, but now that I've put in the time I'm certain some tracks would appeal to you. The John Talabot album is good, check out "Destiny" to see if it's up your alley. Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka is a very consistent bass album. Very moody and sexy late night jams - it kinda reminds me of Massive Attack.

I see you lovin' all up on Sharon Van Etten and Here We Go Magic. To which I say, Fuck Yes!!!

I thought the new Chairlift record would be mediocre at best, but as a sincere lover of '80s pop I'm finding a lot to like. Yay for trying music out before being a judgemental bastard!!!

I dunno exactly how you feel about him but I'm taking to the new Oneohtrix Point Never album. "Returnal" still hasn't hit the sweet spot for me, but "Replica" is proving very textural and immersive to my ears. Kinda wish I'd seen him live, but at least we caught some of the Ford & Lopatin set.

Lykke Li's "Wounded Rhymes" has now joined "Let England Shake" on my shortlist of loved albums from 2011. Female artists are owning the competition!

What do you think of "Let England Shake"? I have to say it's a surprisingly enjoyable and yet subtle album after two listens. I'm looking forward to getting to know it more - could be my first addiction of 2011.

Same for me. I haven't ordered my song list at all, but I've almost finished the painstaking process of slimming it down to 40 EXCELLENT tracks.

Ever listened to DM Stith's "Heavy Ghost"? It just might be the great 2009 album that I completely missed.

Only 11 Sufjan Stevens plays in the past week? You've only listened to "The Age of Adz" once??! Could it be - could I actually be loving a Sufjan release more than you?

"Swim" is still an amazing album, but I can't stop listening to Future Islands and, incredibly, "In Evening Air" hasn't grated on me at all.

Hey. Recently I realised that the songs on my Blog were not playable by anyone that visited it. This has now been fixed. Please take a few minutes to have a look. I hope you find some new music to add to your already awesome library. http://turtleversuspenguin.blogspot.com/ Let me know what you think :)

first half of the new national was a bit disappointment, but the second half - much better. hoping it will be a grower, like new why? for example :D crystal castles FTW, great new album! and mgmt also suprised me. it's a lot different from the debut, it has this beach boys, pink floyd sound, and the best track, siberian breaks, reminds me of elton john's goodbye yellow brick road  but i like it very much <3 speaking of why? you don't like them?

in the world of last.fm it's all about displaying the music you love. i am anxiously awaiting new albums from the national, the black keys, band of horses, plus a full-length drums just in time for summer. other than that i am ancient and male (as you can clearly see from my avi). i currently reside in greater st. louis -previously atlanta -previously cincy -previously d.c. and a graduate of u of md.
