Sorry (mostly because of recs for FYF) for the late reply, I was on vacation and had no service where I was. If you haven't listened to Blood Orange, I'd check him out, I love him. Cupid Deluxe, his album from 2013 was in my top 3 of that year. He just released another one that is good as well. Really synthy sometimes corny sounding alt-r&b with great production. I've seen him once live and it was an amazing show, so I'm excited to see him again. Father John Misty will be another good one to see, I'm not usually into Indie Folk or whatever he is, but his album "I Love You Honeybear" is a great listen. I don't know how tolerant you are for 'ignant turn up trap rap, but Rae Sremmurd should be fun live, like their first album there are a few super catchy hits on their newest that just came out last week. OH how could I forget Kelela. I think you'd really like her if you haven't listened already, she's like alt-r&b mixed with UK Bass, has greeeat producers. Seen her twice and she was

fantastic both times. Other artists I'm excited to see: Vince Staples, who's debut last year is great, Todd Terje, who has a kind of nu-disco thing going on with, I think, a live band, Classix who also do nu-disco, and Kamiayah, a female rapper (and one of the best I've heard in a long time) who comes from Oakland. I haven't listened to their music in a while but I'm also excited for Explosions in the sky. And Grimes. I'm pretty satisfied with the lineup, there aren't a lot of big names but I've listened to a lot of their music.

As you can see, I'm no better! I miss the site but since the re-design it just hasn't felt the same. I still scrobble when I can, but I don't go out of my way to do it anymore (which is both a good and bad thing). Yes!! Really looking forward to FYF, this'll be my first time going. Who are you most excited to see? Any tips since you've been so many times? I've been to TI fest once, the year Outkast headlined, was pretty awesome. The location is really cool. I think this might be the last year they're doing the festival though, so you should definitely go. Maybe I'll see you around since our taste in artists would probably be fairly similar!

I agree, it's a shame that they're making all of this public. Good point about the new track. It would be nice for Ethan to experiment a bit, possibly use a vocalist that doesn't sound like a copy of Alice? Or maybe no vocalist at all...would love to hear a purely instrumental LP from him. The Nosaj album is great, although it does sound fairly similar to his other work (which I'm okay with, considering I really liked his first two albums). Excited to see him live this time around. I'll upload that Shlohmo for you, it's one of my favorite albums this year so far.

So, what do you think about the new CC track? Sounds like good 'ol CC to me, even the vocalist sounds similar, maybe even slightly less anoying. I'm all for Ethan putting out another album under the CC name, Alice Glass was an interesting frontwoman but has never been essential imo. Also get on that new Nosaj Thing brah.

YES! I think LYHB is one of the most replayable albums so far this year. I'm fairly sure I first started listening to him because I found him on your profile though, so I have you to thank for that. I have a feeling he's been producing for a while under different names, he can't possibly be new at producing...

Ooooh, that sounds rad, I'll check it out. I've heard a lot about Liars but I've never listened to any of their music - maybe the new LP is a good place to start? The cover eerily looks like George Clinton's hair...

Loved it man, he is a master of sampling. When "Go Out And Love Someone" came on my gf freaked out, instantly fell in love with it. On first listen "My Letters Ignored" is my favorite track so far, such a tune. If his other work is as good as this, I'll definitely be checking it out. He pretty much stays in my comfort zone when it comes to genres, just so pleasant....

Thanks a lot man, even though most of my scrobbles are more than 2 years old. Digging your taste, I've spent more than an hour going through your favorites, found some very awesome stuff.

Yessss, that album made me a fan of her as well, it's her most consistent and cohesive yet imo. Tons of great tracks on that thing. Sure do! I think I've told you about Hackman before, he produces UK Funky/Bass and House music, I have a feeling his debut LP will be my AOTY this year... that link has two of his EP's and an amazing single that was featured in GTA V. "Close", "We Make Delicious" and "Forgotten Notes" are all must-listens. Next up is Ceo - it's kind of hard to describe his sound but he reminds me of Animal Collective (who I'm not really fond of), but x10 better. "Whorehouse", "Mirage" and most definitely "OMG" are some ridiculously catchy tracks. Last up is Katy B, who I'm sure you've heard of - she's very similar to Disclosure/Alunageorge - UK Bass/House with poppy influence. Highly rec it.

Konbanwa Navid! I just wanted to salvage whatever musical reputation I may have had in your eyes and say that I have not actually listened to Netsky 249 times, or at least I sincerely hope not haha I look forward to my musical soul blossoming in the world of last.fm in the light of Nick and your libraries! lets drink heavily soon

Still need to grab that Clammy Clams, you're like the third person to tell me to get on it so it must be good. As for Hellifornia, HELL yeah! Easily my favorite track off that LP. Your last seven days is nearly impeccable. I still need to get into Tim Hecker, I grabbed Virgins but I wasn't feeling it on first listen. Probably need to listen to it at night without any distractions.

Dude so was I (expecting another Kindred/Truant)! Well said though. It still has that Burial sound, but with new and interesting influences. Every sample was fantastic too, he can make anybody's vocals sound eerily beautiful... Listening to this album at night in a dark room, just taking it all in...happens every time with each of his releases, but never ceases to amaze me. I really feel like he took some mind-altering psychedelic and found new meaning in life, or his worldview changed...

Here's my copy. Clubroot is indeed amazing, just as good as burial, but they're still different. New Burial EP on the 16th btw. Should be magnificent. Btw you should check out Volor Flex. Even more similar to Burial on this album, but it's like...Burial 3.0. Highly recommend you check it out if you're getting into UK Garage. He has tons of material too. Let me know if you need links.

Government Plates has some amazing tracks on it. I'm not really a fan of the noisier tracks but the production on it is definitely on par with every other one of their albums. I kind of liked that there was less of MC Ride and more instrumentals (don't get me wrong though, MC Ride is definitely the reason I love DG as much as I do). Anne Bonny and Birds thru Big House are all my favorites, sooo much bump. DUDE I love Clubroot, all three of his releases are kickass. It's like if Burial was less urban-oriented and more...tribal/space oriented. If that makes sense. Stoned bruh. You need to listen to Demon Drum more, swear that one is addicting... His basslines are incredibly good. Has a really good sense of rhythm.

Hey man long time no talk! You looking for 2k13 releases or w/e? I have a bit of both for you - Phon.o - Black Boulder, solid Future Garage/UK Bass album (This one sounds like Burial + Crystal Castles) . M.I.A.'s new album Matangi is worth checking out, many solid tracks on it, I think you'd definitely dig the production. DJ Rashad's new album Double Cup is basstastic.. There's also Kelela's debut LP which features Bank Head, one of my favorite tracks this year. Speaking of amazing tracks, an artist named Sophie released this beast earlier this year, the two-track EP is pretty good.

I'd imagine his set live would be awesome. It's already leaked dude! Unless you don't like listening to leaks, which is understandable. I think the only track that hasn't leaked is the "Intro" track. If you need a link I can PM you. I'd kill to see Disclosure live, I know they'll be coming to SF eventually.
