Hello! My name is Filipe, I have a project called "Tudo Passa" and I just released my second EP called "Toque", this time in a more electronic vein, focused on synthesizers, something kind of lo-fi / psychedelic. I'm posting here to see if I can spread this new EP out there, I hope you can listen to it and enjoy it, here's the link: https://youtu.be/SCnecECKWUI

Yes, I've seen our compatibility meter drop. It might have to do with the fact I've not listened to a lot of music lately, while you have. Anyway, I've finally found a new album I'm absolutely crazy about: 'Belgica' is a new movie by Felix van Groeningen (perhaps you know 'The Broken Circle Breakdown') and I haven't seen it yet, but the soundtrack! Man, what an album! You may know Soulwax (Belgian brothers David & Steven Dewaele, also known as 2 Many DJ's) or not, but what they've done is quite incredible: they've created 15 new bands who've all contributed 1 (and in the case of The Shitz 2) song to the album in an array of styles: from reggae to punk, from disco to Turkish electropop, from danceable blues to 60s rock, from spacy Vangelis to funk ... You name it, it's on the soundtrack! Even better, you can stream it for free via Pitchfork: http://pitchfork.com/news/63665-stream-soulwaxs-belgica-soundtrack/?utm_campaign=search&utm_medium=site&utm_source=search-ac. Listen. Now.

It's winter in the northern hemisphere and I love this Canadian band, Police des Moeurs. Check out their 'first snow', Première Neige: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP7X_Q-PnYs

Just when I thought 2015 would be a year without a real stand-out music album, a friend of mine pointed me towards Twins Natalia, an Anglo-German quintet with 3 lead singers that makes the catchiest music I've heard in a very long time. Their first single (When We Were Young) dates from 2008 and it took them six years to complete an album (The Destiny Room), but what an absolute triumph! Rooted in the 80s electronic music tradition, they use vintage synths and the Roland drum machine to create a 'technostalgic' atmosphere that I can't get out of my head. Influences include Marsheaux, Ladytron, Propaganda, Erasure, The Human League, Pet Shop Boys, ABBA ... Please listen at high volume and enjoy these tunes: When We Were Young (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlUZrkj_tkM) - Into My Arms Again (https://vimeo.com/101601379) - I Avoid Strangers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvsQZxgX6MQ) - Set Love Free (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QufQge2jnYM) which is my absolute favourite!

Hey hey! Glad you enjoyed the festival. :-) I hardly know more about Run the Jewels than that they're a hip-hop act, but if their idea of fun is bringing bloody Trump into Mexico, I don't even want to know more about them. Trump is a disgrace for mankind, though I only know one country that might vote for that asshole ... I can only hope enough Americans have enough common sense to not elect him president. Pixies these days are but a shadow of their former selves; I guess they should have called it a day back in the early 90s. Best news of the week here is that my favourite band, Sigur Rós, are coming to Belgium next year. I feel as giddy as a schoolboy! ;-) Btw, the new Arca is on my list of things to listen. Reviews are great, so I've got quite high expectations.

Yes, and they took me by surprise too; I had no idea they had reunited. The album 'Cast in Steel' is pretty good, it's in the line of their older work. My favourite song so far is 'Living at the End of the World' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYE4XPSWwoA). More important is the more than welcome return of IAMX. With this new website I can't check it anymore, but I thought you had some music of Chris Corner in your library. If so/If not, check out the single 'Happiness' from the new album 'Metanoia', released today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k58LRJ3tIdg

What the hell: I got a message ready for you but "xavipvs's privacy settings mean they won't receive your message." Last.fm sucks!

Yep, they've made a complete mess of this site. As a subscriber I could access the bèta site (this one!) for months and people wrote all kinds of recommendations (apart from the predominantly very negative comments) on the forums. Then Last.fm decided to ignore most of them. There is some hidden agenda somewhere and I bet it's got to do with money somehow. Anyway, they won't get any more money from me as I've cancelled my subscription. When this site was launched I asked them what benefits a subscriber now gets. I got no answer, of course. And yes, the scrobbling of tracks on Spotify is no longer supported by this site. Makes you wonder what they were thinking of when launching it! Ending on a good (musical!) note: I absolutely love Romare! And as from yesterday, you can listen to a new track, 'Love Song'. :-)

I like the general design of the website, but there's too many features I'm missing: where is the compatibility line? - where are my recent visitors (one of the perks of a subscriber - why keep on paying money?) - only 200 characters in plain text for the about me section??? you must be joking! - where is the album work of our recent tracks? - impossible to navigate through your library by alphabet - impossible to jump from page 1 to last page in your library - journals are gone - groups are gone??? - list of my friends is gone, instead I've got 'followers' (it's like bloody Spotify!) - neighbours are gone etc. etc. I hope at least some of these features return. Oh, and I don't know what it's like for you, but the Last.fm scrobbler is behaving bitchy again. Not sure if they will get their act together ...

Hiya! Oh yes, I was a bit apprehensive at first as I liked their older albums under the name of Portico Quartet (on one of my favourite labels, Peter Gabriel's Real World Records), but I was pleasantly surprised of their more electronic sound on Ninja Tunes. Thanks for pointing that out to me again, as I forgot to give it a place in my list of albums of 2015. If you love Living Fields, try Live/Remix under the Portico Quartet name.

I'm sorry to have kept you waiting - I'm on holiday and my usual diligence has been replaced by a feeling of absolute laziness. ;-) Amen Dunes, a difficult story, to be honest. I quite like the 2 most recent releases (Love & Cowboy Worship) as they contain the most 'straightforward' songs. As for Through Donkey Jaw, I got lost in eerie chaos a lot; I was trying to find melody and often I didn't find it. Again, I'm not sure I'm in the right mood to appreciate this music. I want to relisten to that album in autumn when it rains with my headphones on. McMahon's interesting enough to give him more chances! As for Tame Impala, I was quite surprised about the synths, but Currents at least contains one world song, the opener Let It Happen: Daft Punk, eat your heart out!

I was waiting to react on Amen Dunes until I had listened to it a little more. So far I had 2 spins of 'Love' and listened to 'Murder Dull Mind' & 'Cowboy Worship' once. I'm not too sure about it, to be honest. Although it's interesting, there's something in McNahon's voice that holds me back. I'll have to have a few more listens to make my mind up; so far, the cover of 'Song to the Siren' is my favourite, which seems odd as I'm supposed to judge Amon Dunes and not This Mortal Coil. Btw, I'll give you my opinion on Suuns too, but you'll have to bear with me! ;-) Listening to certain music is very much a matter of being in the 'correct' mood for me. Btw², have a listen to the new Tame Impala; interested to see what you think of that ...
