Indeed last.fm has changed very much since the old simple times. I didn't know about the mallware though! Yes, I do like Fear Innoculum but I feel like I still have to ''learn'' it more, I mean give it few throughout listens more. I feel like it's an album that will grow by time. How about you?

Yes, it looks like behind some ads there are some malicious things going on, I had some really bad pop-ups each time I visited the site. I get what you mean, I had the bad idea to first listen to it while busy and then I got stuck on Descending because of the drums. And I stayed there for quite "some" time lol. After a few back and forth between Descending and the other songs I got to be able to listen to the whole album and getting stuck at each song (modulo the interludes). It's just incredible, usually when an "album needs a few more tries" on my side that means that I'm trying to like it somehow and make it work, because I genuinely like the related band or to try to understand what they tried to achieve. But as you said, the album has just done his own thing and has grown on me quite badly without even noticing or trying! Shit these guys are THAT good! :D I think it will totally spoil my stats for this year, but who cares. Which song(s) got your attention so far?

Ah, I have an ad blocker which might be why I haven't noticed the malware ads. :D Wonderful to hear about your experience of the album. I still love the track Fear Inoculum for it's atmosphere and, o'h hell, the stunning ''panoramic'' quality of all that sound there. So far, I have only listened to the album from start to finish as whole piece without stopping at individual songs very much. I've heard much similarities to the earlier albums. It almost feels like a journey with some flashbacks intoto Tool's past. Descending definitely has lots of things that makes this band so cool, overlapping layers, grooves, atmospheres... Culling Voices also speaks to me, how it progresses from small into powerful parts. It's really hard to chooce for me at this point. I do start to enjoy the whole thing. :D Still, my favorite album from Tool might be the 10,000 days for it's grooves + some grim themes.
